Adobe Stock / Re: 1099
« on: February 01, 2022, 14:03 »
Rather than start a new thread...

I used the link above to try to opt in for 2021 and it keeps saying there is no Vendor for my SSN & Account # - they are definitely correct. Any thoughts? Just wait for it in the mail? Seems like others had this problem last year too. Any fixes expected?

My Adobe Account # is 9-digits. Copied and pasted from my Contributor ID on my Contributor Tab. Not sure if when I initially signed up with Fotolia I had a shorter/different account # - could that be the issue? I assume the current Contributor ID is the correct one to use.

I logged in today with the member id shown on my account (was originally with Fotolia too). My 2021 1099 was already there and I never received any sort of notification

I've had one image sale at AdobeStock since March 12. One! >98% decline. My SS sales are still steady though.

fyi, I received mine before the end of January.

Mine came from Fotolia.

Thank you!!! With that I have all the info I need and can at least have some confidence I file things correctly if they never respond.

Yeah, thanks. I knew that because in January I contacted regular Adobe help and they said I should've received it and to contact Adobe Tax. I did and they said there would be a portal to download it next year! I've sent them one email a week for the past four weeks, and no one has ever responded. Regular Adobe help is just as useless, though they always respond, even if it just to say I should've received a form by now, contact Adobe Tax, and that they have no way themselves of contacting the tax people.

Did you move in 2019? If so, did you update your tax form to reflect your new address? The tax team will get back to you but they are quite busy.

Thanks for your patience,

Mat Hayward

No, I did not move. And yes, the information on the w9 is correct.

If I don't receive one by the end of the week, I'll be calling the IRS and they should hit Adobe with a fine for this.

Hi Martian,

Unfortunately, we don't have access to your tax form in customer service. You will need to go through the tax team directly as advised. As you can imagine, they are pretty busy this time of year so response times may vary. Sorry for the frustrating experience and thank you for your patience!

Mat Hayward

See that's part of the problem. No one even attempts to answer any part of my inquiries. I don't known how many weeks or possibly months it will take to get a response from the tax team, but there is a legal responsibility to send out these forms on time.

I have had some pretty poor experiences dealing with the Adobe help and tax teams. I never received my 1099 this year and attempts to contact the tax team are met with either them ignoring me or telling me that they are working on a system so you can download the form online for next year. When I contact regular Adobe help, they tell me tax forms were sent out in January, immediately close my case, and send me a survey asking how the service was.

I was originally a Fotolia contributor, and as of last year they were still listed as the payer on the 1099. But I have no idea if this is still the case. Does anyone who was originally with Fotolia know it is now Adobe on their forms? And if so could you provide me with their address and TIN? I know exactly how much I was paid, so with that I can file taxes. Thanks!

I pulled the plug on my content at the site last week.

I never received any forms. But I did get a response from them today saying they "only apply withholding tax for US-based downloads" and since I didn't have any tax withheld they don't send 1099s.

There's no way I didn't have any US-based downloads, and they're also supposed to send 1099s regardless of if I had any tax withheld. So I'm still baffled by everything they do.

Yeah, I've had enough - this, their finance team, their contributor support, everything. I'm removing all my photos.

Just log into your back end on 123rf.  Then go here: https://www.123rf.com/tax/
Your 1099 should be in there, as ours were.  Yeah, really nice that we didn't even get any sort of notification.  Thankfully we are all paranoid and checked it regularly enough.

Best wishes, Martian!

Yeah, I've tried that and various other things like clearing the cache and other browsers and devices, but nothing's there. I've checked just about every day too.

I still have not received anything from them. Their contributor support was offline since last Thursday and their regular support refused to help me and said to email them, which I've previously done, but never gotten a response from. I got connected to contributor support today and they gave me this response "1099 and 1042 will be released by end of this week. Apologies for the delay and kindly not that 123RF has applied for an extension with the IRS."

This is absolutely absurd. I don't think anyone there understands anything about US taxes, and I tried to impress on them that for individuals they are due tomorrow at the latest. They said they'd get back to me, but that's extremely unlikely. I know what my royalties were, but based on past years, they have no idea. So, I guess I'll wait until tomorrow. Regardless of what happens, I am permanently removing all of my work from their site. This level of incompetence doesn't deserve any of my business, not to mention that my sales on there have collapsed over the past year.
