I'm not sure about the ebb and flow; its more like monsoon rains and droughts

Thanks for your feedback.
I checked views as well and they are half about what they were in Feb and previous months. Dld numbers are about at Aug 2007 when my portfolio was half the size Lina 5
Adobe Stock / Fotolia slow in March?« on: March 20, 2008, 02:40 »
Apologies Leaf for previous post which came out with very strange fonts (unreadable).
FT has been unnaturally slow during march, especially during the last two weeks, for me. But I'm looking at the ranks (total and 7 days) and they seem to point a general slowdown? Also, I can't seem to access the site consistently over the past week. Anyone notice anything similar? Lina 6

General - Top Sites / Re: How is January doing for you?« on: January 17, 2008, 02:42 »
On the same number of images as December, January is trailing in terms of downloads and earnings.
FT is doing progressively worse (Dec & Jan) than November SS is at the same levels as Dec BigStock, 123 & DT are doing much better, although their contribution to total earnings is marginal. Lina 9
General Stock Discussion / Re: December Earnings Breakdown« on: January 02, 2008, 03:28 »
Happy New Year.
Same total earnings as November Fotolia 24% (632 images) Dreamstime 11% (128 images) SS 73% (29 images - joined mid Nov) earnings situation saved by SS. Lina 10

Nosaya, I was thinking of the exact same thing this morning. I've been on SS for about 1 month, and my best selling photo has had 44 dlds todate. I realise from reading various posts that this is to be expected at the beginning.
No luck with IS yet. Am waiting patiently for next month to retry. Lina 15
Adobe Stock / Re: Poor week...« on: December 17, 2007, 02:45 »
I had a very poor week too in items, but an EL sale was a nice consolation. The other sites have a small portion of my portfolio so I can't compare.

Maybe that explains the lower than averge views and quite unusual zero downloads over the past few days for me......

Adobe Stock / Re: Nine days without sales« on: December 03, 2007, 07:52 »
I had a bit of a slowdown in momentum the last 3 weeks of november, but managed to squeak through with a 4 photo difference from october.
On the other hand, I had two ELs which was great. (total portfolio of 590, quite a few of which I'm ashamed about... ) 18

Thanks for the clarification, Dan.
I'm still relatively new and have started to keep statistics as of September, hence the dumb questions Lina 19

Ooops, forgot to add something.
I had two EL sales on FL this month and was very pleasantly surprised. Since they are the "cherry on top of the cake", as we say in Greek, I wonder if I should account for them separately in the monthly statistics... What do you do? Lina 20

How do you count monthly views at Dreamstime?
The only way I can think of is to actually add the number of views per photo at the end of each month and subtract from the previous. Quite a mess if you have a largish portfolio? Am I missing something? BTW, Dan, totally agree with your approach and analysis methodology. Lina 23

Photoshop Discussion / Re: Lab mode and curves« on: November 16, 2007, 03:08 »
OK, did my homework last night after you pointed me in some directions, and half-solved it.
When i move back to RGB after I'm finished in lab mode, i go to image/mode/RGB and save. I changed my monitor to AdobeRGB and still nothing. Then I noticed this little tick box when you "save as" in the colour section that says something like ICC etc. (is this what you meant hatman?) So I ticked it and it worked - that is when opening in PS and in the Windows viewer, the colours are the same! Bingo. On to the next mystery, which is why the colour appears different (i.e.pre-lab) when I upload the processed picture on fotolia. 25
Photoshop Discussion / Re: Lab mode and curves« on: November 15, 2007, 05:54 »
Thanks everyone,
I am converting back to RGB before I save. I will read the cambridgeincolour page carefully tonight and see if my brain can process the information to provide a clue to this RGB affair. Thanks again, Lina (who finally made it to shutterstock and is very, very proud)
