Adobe Stock / Sales and Credits not updating on Fotolia today
« on: February 27, 2008, 09:47 »
I have had 3 sales so far today but the number of sold images and the credits amount no longer updates.

They seem to have added a new feature  % of images exclusive but since then the only way to see new sales is to refresh the sales page

Anyone else got this problem?

Wen I shoot in the studio, I use Nikon Capture which bypasses the card altogether and the image goes streight to the laptop.
How? Does your D200 has wireless?

Nope. I use a 5m usb extension cable. It has to be a cable with a built in signal booster. The other problem is that the battery only lasts about 15mins when tethered so you have to buy the rather expensive mains power unit for the camera.

It is a bit acward but I just tape both leads to the leg of the tripod with a piece of velcro.

No I dont live in the north. I live in Spain but when I took the camera back to the dealer he said that it would not be covered by the guarantee. Rather than try to argue with Nikon in Spain (Spanish is not my first language) I sent the camera back to Nikon in London. Unfortunately I had to pay for postage and insurance both ways but I suspect that that was a lot less than paying for the repair.

Two of the pins on my D200 disapeared into the camera body. It took Nikon 3 weeks to fix it under warrenty.
When it happened I googled it and found hundreds of people have had problems with bent or missing pins on both Nikon and Cannon.

Wen I shoot in the studio, I use Nikon Capture which bypasses the card altogether and the image goes streight to the laptop. This also alows me to check the focus and histogram instantly.

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Flash card storage?
« on: December 10, 2007, 07:59 »
Thanks for all the info everyone!

The one I am interested in is made by Verbatim who have been around for years. Sounds exactly like your Digimate Freezing. Runs on a battery also, along with a ac adapter.

It has 80gb of storage and from what I can see by the photo, you insert the card into it then it transfers everything from you card on to the mini 80gb hard drive. You can then format your card for a fresh go round. When I get back from holiday, I can then transfer everything from it to my computer via usb.

Be very carefull when you insert the CF card back into the camera.

I too have a D200 and had to change cards during a shoot. When I inserted the new card the camera coudn't recognise it.

The problem turned out that the card slot on the D200 is not a precise fit and if the many pins on the camera don't line up properly with the card then some will either get bent or as in my case 2 of them dissapeared into the body of the camera.

Nikon fixed it under warrenty but it took 4 weeks. I now have a 4Gb card which never comes out. If I think that I will run out of space I take my laptop with me and connect it with the cable.

Adobe Stock / Re: Different Fotolia payout in different countries?

No you are not missing anything.

I live in Spain but 1 credit still equals $1.

It is a bit of a rip off, I sold a large image yesterday to an English company who paid 3 GB pounds ($6) and I got $1 for it (16.5% or Fotolia take 83.5%commision!!!!!)

Why is everything in America cheaper, subsidised etc.
