I don't see your posts as criticism. We are certainly in the same boat. I'd like things to be different too, but these are the times we have to live in.

Thank you! JaenStock has done a very smart analysis. The industry has changed so much, we can no longer calculate in the same way as in the old days. Whenever someone calculates in that way this Simpsons scene comes to my mind:

Hahaha, simple extrapolations don't work, millions of images are uploaded to agencies every month. We must learn to live and produce with it or give it up. It is a very complicated industry, I am aware of that. In fact that is why we have opened our own website krakenimages.com. We know that things can change very quickly, and it's very risky not to have a lifeboat.

When you open your own website you realise that your problems are different. Now our main concern is to have enough images to create our own demand. It is very complicated, we need to produce a lot and cover all the concepts that exist. That is what we are trying to do now.  :)

Thank you all! In the interview with Alex, he explained many of these things. Our profit per sale has dropped by about 8% since the new system. We sell a lot of $0.1, but the more expensive photos make up for it a little bit.

Many years ago, I read a post in Shutterstock forum written by Yuri Arcurs:
forums.submit.shutterstock.com/topic/17059-1170-dls-in-one-day-woohoo/
It was a post in which he shared that he had reached 1000 sales a day in Shutterstock. Wow! It was incredibly motivating for me to know that there was someone out there capable of achieving such high numbers. I promised myself that one day I would reach that level as well. I reached that level many months ago, but I had not shared it with anyone. So today I share with you the sales of September 30th: My best day ever 😍. I hope it will be an inspiration for many, just as it was for me.

I am currently doing several interviews about my story, in different blogs. If you have a website or blog and are interested in interviewing me, it will be a pleasure. Contact me via Instagram:

Thank you for the interview Alex!

Its redundant storage systems. If you have more than one disk you can use Raid. Raid 1 for example is also called mirror. That is, all the information you put into the system is copied to both disks. So if one fails and stops working you have the information on the other disk. Here is a video that explains it better than I do. At Kraken we use RAID 6 for main storage.

There is still a place on the web where you can see the stats:

It is important that you have triple protection:

-On the one hand, your hard disks must be in Raid (Raid 1 is good if you have two disks, if you have 4 it is advisable to Raid 5 or 6)
-Then you must have an automatic copy in another disk that you have in your own office, this we have in Raid 0 to save costs
-Against that you must have it in the cloud, in case you suffer a theft. You can use Google drive or Amazon, depending on the number of images you have the costs will be higher or lower.

That's how we at Kraken have it, it's a good investment in peace of mind.  ::)
