123RF / got $3.00 for a EEL sale? really?
« on: December 20, 2012, 05:59 »
I rarely check or submit to 123rf just because of their randomness in approval. Today when I looked up the earnings I saw one photo sell for EEL. I was quite excited till I looked across and saw only $3.00? Then I had a quick look and saw all the posts about how 'dodgy' the commission has been of late? So would this mean it's correct that I only got $3 for an EEL sale which costs 75 credit?

Photo Critique / which of these to submit for SS approval?
« on: May 08, 2012, 23:21 »
Not sure if I can post my istock folio link on SS forum so thought I'd try it here first.

Here's my portfolio from istock.

I'm having a hard time picking which ones cause being approved by iStock I would have thought they all suffice quality wise but I'm sure it's not the case.

Please let me know which ones I should include in the initial 10. Ta.

maybe with the 2nd one I can understand if the quality is up to par cause I had to do alot of pp to increase the brightness but the other two I wouldn't know what is so snapshotish about them?

CanStockPhoto.com / Did canstock just went all hardcore?
« on: January 06, 2012, 00:41 »
Never used to get any rejection and just last 3 days I have gotten 20/22 photos rejected for reason of "photo not unique" enough or "not up to our standard"... I can pick many more photos that are way below standards of the ones I submitted in last 2 days that's been accepted without any issue...

Veer / taking forever to get photo reviewed?
« on: December 15, 2011, 18:25 »
my photo from 2 weeks ago are sitting in the pending list. I thought fotolia and istock had slow turnaround but even they would do it after a week or so. Am I missing something here?

iStockPhoto.com / Does more review improve your search ranking?

otherwise what's the point of having ppl giving you 5/5?

I know Fotolia has very random selection criteria but seriously I have submitted 2 Photos of exact same building shot from 2 angles and the 2nd one have come back with rejected by copyright violation... what? You might as well reject both for some consistency! So frustrating!

Photo Critique / Rejected for copyright of a beach house?!
« on: November 14, 2011, 20:04 »
Here is the image. I have a bunch of these and they all got rejected due to copyright infringement by DT. I don't understand. They have been approved by fotolia, 123rf, photodune, bigstock, and depositphoto. What is the issue and how can I fix it?

Envato / Viewing pending and deleted photos?
« on: November 14, 2011, 08:34 »
I know with all my other microstock sites I can see what photos I have already submitted previously but there doesn't appear to be an option in photodune? Makes it incredibly hard to keep track of things when I'm uploading alot of photos to multiple websites. What's worse is when I get a "rejected" email about a photo, I have no idea which photo the rejection is for.

Envato / FTP process taking forever?
« on: November 08, 2011, 21:51 »
I know the website is in beta mode but my 10 ftp images have been processing for the last 30minutes? Surely it doesn't take this long for 10 images?! does the website support chrome browser?

I'll be honest, I never knew there were so many IP laws protecting just everyday buildings you see on the street.

My question is if I take a cityscape photo and alot of the building have company logo or advertisement boards on their rooftop, am I still able to sell these for stock?

If I take interior/exterior photos of a public building, eg: library, and on their website it says photography is allowed, do I still need to seek property release?

I submitted the same lots of photos to 2 microstock agencies, fotolia and bigstockphoto, one approved and the other turned it down due to IP infringement? Aren't these both fairly large agencies? Should't they have similar guidelines?
