Adobe Stock / Fotolia EL Sales
« on: August 29, 2008, 05:01 »
I just had 3 EL sales by the same person today. But I am at the bottom rank so I just got 3 $6.6... if it were at another site, then it would have been 4 times the price! Arrgghhh! Not really sure if I am happy about it...

Do you guys often get EL sales at Fotolia when you were just starting out and hence EL sales are cheaper?

Illustration - General / Anyone who sells at vectorstock?
« on: July 29, 2008, 01:49 »
Is there anyone here who sells at Vectorstock? I just want to know if sales are ok or if it is worth uploading to? The payout is $100 and at $0.25 per download (usually 1 credit files).. that kind of takes a long time unless the volume is as much as SS... any thoughts?

How big is your portfolio and what is your average sales per day?

iStockPhoto.com / Active in Forums - Increased DL?
« on: July 17, 2008, 00:23 »
I was wondering if anyone believes in the theory that if you are active in istock forums, you will have increased sales. I actually noticed that this is somewhat true when I started chatting in forums... but recently I stopped and downloads were also down. Of course I don't believe that it's 100% true, but still, i will chat more in forums in hopes that this actually works =)

iStockPhoto.com / Super Fast Review Time for Non-exclusive
« on: June 24, 2008, 10:56 »
i am a newbie in istock and obviously non-exclusive. Usually my files take around a week before they will be reviewed. However, i uploaded some files yesterday and it was reviewed in 24 hours! That's really really fast!

Hmm.. maybe a lot of people stopped uploading? Haha!

Shutterstock.com / How Much DL to make it to Top 50
« on: June 17, 2008, 08:44 »
I was just wondering if anyone knew how much downloads per week on average does those photos in the top 50 of the week have? Is it the same as istock top of the week which is around 100+ DLs for the last week? 100+ a week is too little on SS... so is it around 1000+ a week?

Dreamstime.com / Vector sales at Dreamstime
« on: June 15, 2008, 00:43 »
Are vector sales good at Dreamstime? I haven't uploaded there yet because I was waiting if my sales at istockphoto would be good and then opt for exclusivity. But now, I think that would not happen so I am now looking into uploading at Dreamstime.

Are vector sales good at Dreamstime? Is the volume high? Thanks!

Illustration - General / How to improve vector sales?
« on: June 05, 2008, 21:22 »
How do you improve vector sales in each of the following sites?
Currently, my best selling site is SS. As I understand, as long as you constantly upload in SS, you get better sales. So what about other sites?

Fotolia?
Stockxpert?
123Rf?
iStockphoto?

I get minimal sales in all other 4 sites. I am not sure what I could do to improve sales. Any styles?

Illustration - General / Best selling Vector Site?
« on: May 29, 2008, 21:24 »
Hi I am a newbie in microstock. I just started doing microstock last month. At first I tried photography, but it was just too much effort for me to post edit and I don't know much about the cameras. So, I switched to vectors instead because I noticed that a lot of best sellers are vectors.

I am not very good at drawing but I do like to look at art and I sometimes make arts and crafts at home so I think I am somewhat creative at the very least. Anyway, I learned Illustrator from scratch and about 1 month later, I have my first vectors ready to submit to the Big 6. I have high hopes for Istock but then I was sorely disappointed because although I got in at the first application, my first 15 uploads are mostly rejected, only a couple were accepted!

Shutterstock is doing okay with 25 files currently, I average only 5 DLs per day which is probably dismal because as I have read, sales will drop after the first month even if you keep on uploading.

In Stockxpert, I sold only 3 subscription in 1 week. Is that bad?

In Fotolia, I sold only 1 vector in 2 weeks. Is this normal?

I am waiting for approval in 123RF, how is the vector sales there?

I haven't uploaded in Dreamstime yet because I am afraid of the 6 months in case I would like to go exclusive in IS (although that is very unlikely now!) But is it worth the effort? Will Dreamstime give me enough vector downloads (credits and not subscription)?

In your case, what was the best site for selling vectors? Both in terms of money and downloads.  Thanks for reading this loooonggg post. Hehe!
