Has anyone tried isolated PNG objects, e.g. vegetables, fruit, cars, people, etc.?
Probably these are already also extremely oversaturated so I would have to find some niches.

I would have expected designers to need these resources for their projects like print, advertising, etc.

Is it worth the upload or are regular images better selling?

Adobe Stock / Are PSD (product) templates worth the upload?
« on: March 13, 2024, 08:17 »
Saw today that there are just approx. 55k PSD (Photoshop) templates on Adobe Stock. So the competition seems still to be low here.
I'm currently thinking about creating some product templates by generating AI objects and then create PSD collages within Photoshop, which you could then easily edit.

Since I would be spending a lot more time than just submitting AI images (which are already oversaturated), is it worth the time investment?
Has anyone tried out whether templates are sold in significant amounts?

Today I played a little with a combination of Stable Diffusion XL and an AI upscaler.
I mean, considering that we are still at the beginning of the development cycle and I am just a newbie, who plays with AI tools for 3 months the possibilities are already now promising for the coming future in the next years.

I believe that future AI image models could be structured as "multi-layered" models.
In the first step a rough image sketch with a few diffusion steps (almost like a composition sketch) would be generated based on the prompt and subsequently each identified content of the image would be filled in with more details by using fine tuned AI upscalers.

So you will for sure have fine tuned portrait upscale models for skin, hair, lips, eyes, hands, fingers, etc. And probably also for other type of motifs, which will work like "inpaints". Like a painter, who would add details to an oil painting by several following steps.

This direction is already being explored with models like Stable Cascade.

I think the current diffusion technique is still very ineffective because of the current hardware limitations.
Certainly there will be many new techniques and model refinements in the future which we can't even imagine at the moment.
I also believe that the current generation errors will be spotted and corrected by the AI automatically.

So in a nutshell for me, there is no longer any uncertainty that (stock) photography will be replaced by AI. The question is not if, but when it will happen.

Some following examples.

I wonder if AI images should be offered cheaper and the prices of authentic, high-quality photos should be increased?

I mean it does not make any sense that the price is equal because it takes so much more effort to prepare a good photo set up, pay models and post process taken photos. Many photographers can't work profitably even with huge masses anymore, so many will resign in the future and say, "F*** off, I won't contribute anymore and just move further to another industry."

Alternatively, if one doesn't want to offer the AI-generated images at a lower price, one should sell a pack of 5 or 10 images of a specific motif, because it would be just fair. There is hardly any additional effort, whether I generate 1 or 10 images. Upscaling and image editing take only a few minutes for a cleanly generated image.

In return, one should offer authentic and more complex content, which cannot be generated with AI, at a higher price or exclude it completely from the subscription model.

What are your ideas?

General Photography Discussion / Which aspect ratio sells most?
« on: February 29, 2024, 16:31 »
I think we can agree that landscape / widescreen format sells more than classical portrait format.
Which aspect ratio sells better for you in landscape format? Are there any noticeable patterns in terms of image categories or content?

Does the old 3:2 or the new 16:9 sell better?
I would have assumed that images for mobile use should sell better with 16:9 aspect ratio.

Have seen today several thousands of offers for midjourney prompts.
https://www.etsy.com/de/search?q=midjourney%20prompts&ref=search_bar

Who has been eating people's brains?
I mean, these people's thinking can't be any more short-term than that, can it?
So, if you're selling same stuff there, stop doing this shi*!

I really hope that some one will kick in Midjourney nuts.
This platform has become really a pest plague.

No wonder freelance digital artists are afraid of their living income. It's like they say: It is not AI that will replace you, but a human with AI without any further skills.

Found today this online AI Tool, which can generate image titles, image desriptions and image keywordings:

https://pixify.io/ai-keywording-tool

Tested it with some generic stuff like ethnical portraits with plants, candy stuff, etc. but also close ups of technical gadgets.
Worked better as expected, sometimes very impressive.
Would be insane, if Adobe or other agencies would implement this for contributors.

But seems to be expensive for batch processes, as it is only available as a subscription model.
So you have to be a pro contributor to get it paid off.

Do you know any AI tools that are helpful to reduce the rejection rate of photos and increase sales?

So far I have found the following online tool from everypixel:

https://labs.everypixel.com/demo
https://labs.everypixel.com/ugc-photo-scoring
https://aesthetics.everypixel.com/

There are two models:
One model is said to have been developed with high-resolution stock photos, the other with Instagram photos and additionally with manual evaluation criteria from professional reviewers.

It is supposed to evaluate also the technical details of photos, but my impression is that it primarily evaluates the aesthetics such as composition, color harmony, etc. of images.
Often I personally agree with it's generated ratings, so I would say it's not completely garbage.

However I am currently trying to use it to preselect the AI-generated images from my batches that get the highest ratings.
