Photoshop Discussion / Adobe Bridge CS4 - No refresh?
« on: January 19, 2010, 09:36 »
Hi all,

Hopefully somebody may have had some experience with this and can help me.

Usually when editing TIFFs I use bridge with photoshop, and after being finished in Photoshop, Bridge updates to show the changes. For some reason now, it doesn't update the folder contents or image changes, without going out of the folder and in again.

Make sense to anyone? Thanks!

General Stock Discussion / Are your images for sale on eBay?
« on: September 16, 2009, 02:49 »
Hey all,

Yesterday, David Hobby twittered about the criminal sales of 3000 stock photographs over ebay on DVD, sourced from Micro with the most recognisable images coming from Yuri Arcurs. The DVD was being sold for $US4.99 or thereabouts, and this is in direct contradiction to the allowed usage of microstock images. Ebay has now removed that posting and is hopefully tying up any loose ends there.

However, I went on to ebay and did a quick search for 'stock images' and this came up: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/digienlight

Not to start a witch hunt, but this seems ridiculously cheap, and why sell them on eBay??

Hey,

A brag first, i just noticed two images were picked as istock hotshots.

But, after my ego subsided to its hopefully normal size, i started thinking about branding images, images that you enjoy doing. Images that don't directly sell a million images. But, images that define what it is that you do, that does attract clients.

Read some of what nick onken is saying, especially about 'expanding your default'. Your default would be what you fall back on when you need to be shooting, what you know. Expanding this happens by trying new things, either successfully or not.

Keep shooting!

iStockPhoto.com / Comments? Istock Premiere Collection
« on: May 14, 2009, 03:08 »
Hi there,

I've not heard too much feedback on the iStock Premiere collection, outside of iStock's own forum, which can be a flavoured at times. Whats the story, here? And, sorry non-exclusives, i do realize you're being 'exclu'-ded here ;)

Is anyone submitting? What are you submitting? I'm wanting to know what goes through and what doesn't.

I've not submitted anything yet, and am reluctant to do so. Its not easy to decide, and further, what those decisions should be based on. Cost to produce, sellability, or creative content of the image?

Cost to produce seems the most logical factor, but also risky as it could be the most difficult way to recuperate costs, based on how successful the collection is.
