Bigstock.com / deleting images from BigStock
« on: October 10, 2008, 08:45 »
as I am planning on going exclusive on IS soon, I am in the progress of deleting my portfolios from all the other sites.
I have asked for a payout at BigStock, and all my images there are well over 90 days so it is ok for me to delete them, but...
I just can't seem to find the option to delete am image there. anyone found it?

Zymmetrical.com / Account closed. or is it not?
« on: July 15, 2008, 08:27 »
About a month ago I sent an email to Zym asking them to remove my images and close my account.
A few days later I recieved an email saying that it was done, and  I really can't log into the site.
Today I googled my username there and found that 4 of my images are still there.
I can't even know wether they were sold while I couldn't check, or why they didn't delete those with the rest of my portfolio.

so if you asked Zym to close your account, go and check for "leftover" images.

Crestock.com / "Account Terminated"
« on: July 07, 2008, 12:11 »
In my quest for losing non earners and getting ready to go exclusive with istock when I can (probably october...), I sent Crestock this message about 2 weeks ago:

"Hi,

I have decided to narrow the spread of my portfolio.
As all I made with your site is $11.50 in over 2 years, I am sorry to
 have to let it go.

Please delete my images and close my account.

I hope you would still consider of transfering those funds to my
paypal account: **paypal email comes here**

Please let me know, to the same email address, when portfolio is deleted.

Thanks,
Lior."

A few days later they sent me an email asking me to verify that it was me that asked the account to be cancelled, and so I did.

Today I got this email from them:
"Dear Lior

This is to confirm that your account has been terminated.

Best Regards,

Kari Sklbones
The Crestock Team"

Of course, not a single word about those $11.50 (that became $11.75 while waiting for them to take action)....

I did send an email with the same request to CanStockPhoto, but didn't even get an answer...

Albumo.com / Bye Bye...
« on: June 12, 2008, 11:10 »
After deleting an image a day for about 2 weeks, and writing them twice asking for my account to be cacelled and my images removed, with no answer, I tried doing something else a few days ago.

I changed the description of all my files asking buyers not to download this image as I am trying to close the account and I will not see the royalties from it.

I just tried logging in to Albumo to delete my daily photo and my account is cancelled...

I did send an email to zymm asking my account to be cancelled as well, but no answer yet...

General Stock Discussion / Panoramas
« on: May 24, 2008, 08:56 »
I recently started playing around with some panorama shots.
I was wondering how will it go on stock sites...

Does anyone upload panoramas to stock?
What sites accept them?
Do they sell?

General Stock Discussion / Waiting times
« on: May 15, 2008, 10:22 »
After the "big raise" at SS I'm beginning to consider IS exclusivity more and more.

I do know that I can't do it right away since some sites make you have the files online for a certain amount of time.
I know that DT wants 6 months and BigStock 90 days.
what else?
are there any more surprises that I am not aware of?

Cameras / Lenses / Canon 100mm F2.8 macro
« on: May 02, 2008, 13:12 »
I'm seriously thinking of ordering this lens on monday.

Anyone here has any experience with it?
pros and cons?

I will use it mainly for macro.

Crestock.com / oh, the humiliation...
« on: April 28, 2008, 03:42 »
I browsed a little at crestock earlier today (which I don't do much, I don't upload much there either, since they are good on rejections and poor with sales...) to find out one of my shots in the "worst image of the day" archive...
this is the one: http://www.crestock.com/todays-worst-image.aspx?id=572.

I don't mind getting a beat when I deserve one, but to claim that this photo is blurry makes me think that the honorable judge needs a new pair of glasses...  ;)

the picture is pin sharp, and actually sold a few times on other sites (including SS and IS which I believe won't accept blurry shots...).

all in all, it made my day. good to start a day laughing  :P
