Image Sleuth / Stolen image on fololia.
« on: July 22, 2011, 12:13 »
Some one called Seyyah has taken my best selling image, flipped it, and used it to make a vector.

My image http://en.fotolia.com/id/11266432
His image http://eu.fotolia.com/id/30930724

I have reported him to Fotolia. Check his port and see if he has used any of your images.

Print on Demand Forum / Keywords
« on: January 30, 2011, 13:06 »
When I go back to edit my products in Zazzle I find that they keywords all have a plus sign between then, as though they are one big phrase. It takes me ages to edit them all to remove the pluses. Does anyone know why this happens, and if it affects searches?

Panthermedia.net / Commission Rate
« on: June 10, 2009, 02:54 »
I have all my images on Panthermedia set to 30% commission because they are all for sale on other agencies.
My recent sales have given me commission rates of 51%. (yes 51% not 50%). When I checked my images  all the rates have been changed to 50%.
I changes some of them back to 30, and notified support. They replied that they could see nothing wrong.
Another sale went through at 51%, and the images I had corrected a couple of days ago have changed back from 30 to 50%. I contacted them again, but have not heard anything.
meantime, I do not want to touch the money they owe me just in case.
Can you check your portfolios and let me know if this is a site problem or just my port?   ???

General - Stock Video / Slow motion
« on: May 31, 2009, 02:20 »
I have a 5d mkII, and am enjoying making short films. I had two accepted on SS and Fotolia, nothing to be proud of but a beginning ;).

Can anybody explain how to do slow motion film? It look a lot of fun. Is it the software or can my camera not do it at all?

CanStockPhoto.com / Sales at CanStock
« on: February 07, 2009, 01:40 »
My sales at Canstock have taken off like a rocket this week. The sales at Fotosearch are really making a difference. Canstock has been dead slow for years, this week it has shot up to my number two spot! I love those big Fotosearch sales!  ;D

Off Topic / Nude Photography
« on: April 21, 2008, 12:31 »
I have been trying to get my husband interested in photography. I gave him my 20d when I upgraded my camera.
I thought nude photography would get him really interested, but when he went outside everybody pointed at him, and laughed at him and someone threatened to call the police. ;D ;D ;D

Off Topic / Are you addicted?
« on: March 10, 2008, 15:48 »
You know you're addicted to photoshop when..

You see the world with one eye and stock images with the other.

When asked what the primary colors are, answer "RGB"

You get the urge to 'fix' poor quality images.

You start teaching your significant other to use this "evil" program and in the space of one afternoon convince them it's at least only quasi-evil in the face of PSP.

You ramble about a breakthrough in the piece you're doing to people who have no idea in hell what you're talking about

You ponder the meaning of existence without layers.

You never leave the house without a digicam and notepad.

You drop something and your brain tells you automatically "Ctrl-Z! Ctrl-Z!". When you realize it won't work, your brain tells you "Ctrl-Alt-Z! Ctrl-Alt-Z!"

You're getting dressed for something important and you look in the mirror and realize you would look so much better if you could just tweak the levels a little and apply a slight gaussian blur.

You stop on the street to rant about cheesey effects that should not be on professional posters.

You scream out fonts as they appear on TV.

You have dreams in "glowing edges"

You're standing by the ocean and wondering who used Ocean Ripple.

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are addicted to Photoshop.

iStockPhoto.com / Is this legal?
« on: October 16, 2007, 13:38 »
Does anyone know if this site has some sort of agreement with istock?

Take a look here: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=233029

They seem to be making collages with bits of pictures from all over the internet. A lot of the images are exclusive to istock. I have sent an email to support, but they say they make take up to 5 days to respond!

Polyvores terms of service seem to state that they have a worldwide licence to use the images created on their site. Surely they cannot claim that on other peoples images?

I just noticed that they are using images from Stockexpert too. Type your name into the search bar to see if they are using any of your images.

SnapVillage.com / SnapVillage
« on: July 09, 2007, 01:59 »
Has anyone had any pictures approved at Snapvillage? I uploaded a dozen or so to try it out. They were uploaded on 25th June, and are still just sitting there. Anyone else experiencing the same sort of thing, or have my pictures got 'stuck'?

General Stock Discussion / American Frame
« on: March 13, 2007, 13:38 »
A long time ago I read on these forum about American Frame. They sell frames, and you can upload your images to be sold with the frames. You set your own profit.
BEWARE.
I had a gallery on there, and last week received an email from their printing department. They had an order for one of my pictures, but did not have it on the database. They asked me to re upload, which I did.
I have not been credited with that sale. I have emailed support and received no reply.
Therefore, I have deleted all my images.
If you have any images with them, be warned, they don't pay you for sales!

Off Topic / Petition
« on: February 24, 2007, 03:37 »
There are moves afoot in the British Parliament to restrict the use of cameras in public places.
If you are British and agree that this is a really BAD idea, please sign the petition on the Government website:
