Shutterstock.com / Have you received July SS payout yet?
« on: August 10, 2017, 12:46 »
Before anybody says the obvious, yes, I know it is not technically late til the 15th, but I have never been paid out this late in over 8 years doing business with them.  Also, in another thread, some people were already paid days ago.

SS is a third of my total income.  I have bills waiting to be paid.  So I am trying to figure out if I've been skipped or if others are still waiting too.

Thanks in advance to those who take the poll. :)

iStockPhoto.com / Did I imagine this? Istock
« on: December 14, 2016, 01:24 »
I could swear I got a letter early this month from Istock stating that they had paid me for my Nov. earnings.  My reaction was surprise because they usually pay on the 25th, but with that being Christmas, and with the whole structure changing on the 23rd this month, I thought:  Okay, I guess they are paying early this month.

Stupidly, I deleted the letter.  Now went to make my usual mid-month paypal withdrawal and the money isn't there.

Did I misread the letter, and they were just giving me the total of the payout but not actually paying it?   Can't find anything on the site other than the usual "we will pay on the 25th of the month" statement, but often their pages take months to catch up with their new policies.

Does anyone know when they are making payouts this month, or if they already did and I missed it?

Microstock Services / Skrill possible phishing scam?
« on: September 08, 2016, 13:30 »
I got an email request from Skrill today for proof of where I live, like utility bill, or similar.  It was adressed to me by name, which usually rules out phishing, but this is pretty fishy.  Never got this kind of request from them or paypal before.   Why do they need this info?

Also, even if it is legit, they won't accept screenshots or printouts.  Do they expect me to get on a plane and hand deliver my personal info, F.F.S.??!

Shutterstock.com / Anyone get paid yet for July?
« on: August 11, 2016, 14:27 »
Yeah, I  know it says they will pay us by the 15th, but this is the latest I have ever NOT been paid by SS, and unlike July, there is not a holiday as an excuse.  Anyone else get paid by SS yet?

PhotoDune / PhotoDune $10 transaction fee to get our money?
« on: June 15, 2016, 22:42 »
I just realized Photodune charged me $10 transaction fee to transfer my money to me!  I get paid through Skrill.  This never happened before.  Did anyone else get charged this fee or hear any announcement about it?

Double U T F??!!!!

« on: October 29, 2015, 23:10 »
It was a long notice to reprint here, but the bottom line is here:

Non-Exclusive downloads from $0.28 to $1.00
Exclusive Essentials downloads from $0.34 to $1.25

We will also be retroactively applying the new rates, for any image downloaded by the new products since they launched (August 25, 2015), to your accounts by the end of November.

Retroactively! !  Finally some good news!  Depending on how much of a windfall this turns out to be I may start uploading TO IS again.   :D

PhotoDune / Envato's UNSTOCK site. All Photos $5!?
« on: October 26, 2015, 23:17 »
What is Envato doing with their new Unstock site?  Moto = 'Authentic stock photography.  Always $5.'

The site is accessed by a banner at the top of Photodune, and probably other Envato sites too.

Anyone hear about this?  The photos look for sure like standard stock photos.  I didn't see any of mine, but I don't know if they are there or not.  Are they using other stock to compete with us that sells on Photodune?  What portion do the artists get?

Whats up with this?

General Stock Discussion / June Earnings Thread
« on: July 01, 2015, 23:54 »
What, no earning thread for June yet, and here we are already July 2nd?  Guess I'll start off.

I am down ONLY 6% on last June, which is better than I usually get now days.  June up 9% on May, which never happens.

I had a good month on SS cuz of some big SOD sales, and also those bunch of .38 sales at the end of the month.  Did better than expected on 123 and DP also.

Istock has tanked.  I mean really fell off the cliff.  No surprise there to anyone with a big port on IS, I think.

FT down a bit.  This worries me after the big Adobe announcement.  Maybe its too soon for the Adobe effect to kick in?  Anybody see a big uptick on FT yet?

iStockPhoto.com / Weren't we supposed to get paid the 25th?
« on: April 27, 2015, 21:27 »
I know the 25th was Saturday, so I  figured it might be late, but it's past close of business on the 27th and nothing from Istock.  Anybody know what's up with our payouts?

I read a lot about photogs getting their work on many mid and high end sites like corbis, offset, getty, etc. through  a stock distributor.   Lets assume somebody has a large portfolio with a successful sales track record.  How would they get with one of these distributors?  The names of some of the distributors would be nice to know.   Google was not helpful.

iStockPhoto.com / Any point uploading to Istock?
« on: February 11, 2015, 14:46 »
I am about a year behind for uploading to Istock.  I been spending my time processing and uploading to other sites which are easier and faster to upload to.  So I have a big backlog of images to get on Istock.

My sales at Istock have fell off a cliff.  Question to those still uploading there, are you seeing any better sales?  My time is limited.   I can either keep creating comtent for the other sites, or take time to get caught up at IS.   If I take a month or more to just upload on Istock, is it worth it?  Or are they a lost cause by now?

123RF / Anyone got paid this month at 123?
« on: September 16, 2014, 19:03 »
Don't 123rf usually pay by 15th?  End of business on 16th and still no payment.  Did some of you get your money?

Shutterstock.com / Reporting bug on Shutterstock
« on: September 11, 2014, 16:37 »
I am just checking my totals for the day and my Earnings Summary page does not match my Earnings by date page.

Earnings by date shows an EL and a larger number of OD sales that have not been added in my summary or my $ total.  The $ total is at least $30-35 under what I actually earned today.  Have not checked prior days yet.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Pond5 / hundreds of sales today on P5/Pixmac
« on: July 29, 2014, 11:14 »
Usually I get maybe couple sales a week since P5 bought Pmac.  Today I check in and my balance jumped by hundreds of dollars and there are hundreds of sales today.  I'm just very lucky or this is fraud?!

Others seeing this today?

Balance keep jumping by couple hundred more $.  Some images bought 3-10 times in a row.  I am the only one seeing this?

Was watching Colbert Report the other day and saw that Amazon has gotten a patent on photographing a subject against a white background.  WT#@%k??!!!

Just googled and apparently its true!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/15/colbert-amazon-patent_n_5331743.html

http://qz.com/207512/taking-a-photo-against-a-white-background-amazon-owns-the-patent-on-that/

Doesn't this invalidate like a large chunk of the images in the microstock collections?  What are the agencies going to do about this?  And will buyers be afraid to buy images over white now?

Seems insane to be able to patent that.  What's next - issuing a patent on boiling water?

Anyone else having a murderous time trying to get paid by StockXpert lately?  They used to pay out regular as clockwork.  The site still says 3 days, but the last time I got paid it took over a week and only came after I contacted support to find out what was up.

Now it's been over a week again since requesting a payout and letter to support was not responded to this time.

It's really so sad.  This site is still a good performer, but Getty seem to have written them off.  Now apparently they don't even have the staff necessary to keep up with payouts?

what is going on over there ???

iStockPhoto.com / IS regular downloads killed by Vetta?
« on: July 09, 2009, 12:34 »
My sales on istock this month have been pretty sad.  Okay, there was the US holiday weekend, but even on the regular weekdays I am down 25-40%.

Near as I can figure from a few sample searches, my files' visibility in the best match have been drastically reduced because of pushing Vetta images to the front.  Can't tell for sure if there is also an increased bias against independents or not.

I get that it's summer, but since my June sales at IS were good, and my sales at other sites are still holding steady I don't think this big istock sales drop in July is only the summer slow down.

Would like to know the experiences of other people who don't have vetta files (exclusive or not).  Have your Istock sales died out in July too?

StockXpert.com / StockXpert behind in payouts
« on: June 27, 2009, 19:32 »
Up to now I have been very pleased that Stockxpert has kept up with its obligations to pay contributors within the promised 3 day time frame.

Even since they have been bought by Getty and appear to be in the process of being phased out they have still been making payouts regularly.

Unfortunately, I now have a payout pending since the 22nd, which is 5 days, and since tomorrow is Sunday I can't expect to be paid until Monday at the soonest.

Anyone else having to wait an unusually long time for a payout there?   Hope this is just an isolated case and not a taste of things to come...

I have been trying to login to istock and keep getting sent from the login page back to the opening splash page and back again.  Anyone else experiencing the same?
