StockXpert.com / 4 months after StockXpert stopped....
« on: June 09, 2010, 12:20 »
Last february I decided to have all my StockXpert files tranferred to Thinkstock. In the meantime I contacted StockXpert several times but was told that they are still in the migration process and it can last till the summer before all files are actually on Thinkstock.

Four months later: no files on Thinkstock so no earnings from those images.

Does anyone have the same experience?

Sites that no longer exist / RIP Pixamba
« on: April 26, 2010, 09:36 »
Funny, after they approved my november uploads last week I received this email today:

Dear contributors,
I am sorry to tell you that we have decided to shutdown Pixamba microstock collection.
Pixamba will be focusing on delivery of our innovative media management SaaS for stock imagery consumers.

The microstock collection at http://www.pixamba.com will go down on the week of May 3 2010.
All the images will be safely and permanently removed from our servers.
We'll send you all and any payouts you got with us before the shutdown.
Please feel free to write us to [email protected] for any question you may have.

Pixamba media management service will go live shortly after the microstock site shutdown. The new service helps imagery consumers organize and manage their archives offering instant search, convenient cataloging, built-in media auto-tagging and other unique features.

Thank you for being with us,
David Mail, CEO Pixamba

Adobe Stock / Fotolia Witholding taxes
« on: March 11, 2010, 15:04 »
Now that Fotolia started to withold taxes we were all forced to fill in some tax form. Non US residents living in a country with a tax treaty with the US do not have to pay the taxes. I filled in a form and Fotolia suggested to process and refund the taxes that were taken from previous commissions.

Guess what? It now turns out that Fotolia is NOT paying me the taxes on sales between january 1st and the date my tax form was approved. I wonder were the money goes... Thank God, I filled in that form early january so it's not a big amount but it's still money!
