Photo Critique / Critique needed for iStock application
« on: November 02, 2009, 17:55 »
Hello, I am hoping that you can help me by critiquing the below photo. This is for my initial iStock application. I already have 2 images approved, I just need one more and I'm set.

StockXpert.com / How are you referring people to Stockxpert?
« on: October 28, 2009, 17:43 »
I signed up with Commission Junction, but don't see anything about Stockxpert. I read on another website that the referral program hasn't been working for quite awhile now and I just want to make sure that I'm not missing something.

Thanks!

Newbie Discussion / How do you upload to multiple sites?
« on: October 22, 2009, 13:17 »
Hello, I currently submit images to 6 websites and it has becomes quite the process. Here's what I do:

1. After I save my image, I enter it into my spreadsheet along with the keywords. That way I can copy/paste the keywords to the sites after uploading.
2.  I open 6 tabs in Firefox, open all of the websites and upload to all the sites at the time.
3. Whatever website uploads first, I will enter all of the information and submit. Repeat for the rest.

It takes me a little time to figure out the perfect categories. Luckily some of my sites don't require them.

When I think about each step that I take, it doesn't seem like it takes a long time, but when I take into account the entire process, it can take 45 minutes+ just to upload a handful of pics.

Are you all using FTP?
-OR - Are some of you skipping the categories?

I don't mind putting the time in if that's how it is, but I just have a feeling that everyone else has a much simpler process.

Thank you!

I've been looking at all of the posts about selling business cards, t-shirts, prints, etc. through various websites and I was wondering if I could use my existing microstock portfolio as the images?

I would assume so since I still own copyright, but was curious what everyone else did.

Newbie Discussion / Introduction - New to Microstock
« on: October 19, 2009, 12:40 »
Hello everyone, my name is Brandy and I am brand new to the microstock business. I've started portfolios on 123RF, BigStockPhoto, CanStockPhoto, Dreamstime, Fotolia, and Stockxpert.  I've already received 3 sales from Fotolia (1) and Dreamstime (2), but I'd like to think that I have just been extremely lucky. I'm getting ready to start my 3rd application on iStockPhoto and I'm currently waiting the 30 days to re-apply to Shutterstock. But it sounds like those two companies are pretty tough, so I'm okay with waiting a bit until my portfolio is better.

I've started a blog documenting my journey at untilitclicks.blogspot.com. I thought that other photographers would enjoy reading about my struggles (and few successes every now and then).

I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts and I look forward to getting better with my photography!

So hello everyone!
