Adobe Stock / Late discovery of changes Fotolia to Adobe
« on: December 29, 2019, 11:54 »
Hi! I hope i can post this without too many "Oh my god"... And i tried to search before i posted, i promise!

Anyhow: For several reasons, I have been ignoring my stock ambitions for a long time. When i now tried to look up what has happened with my portfolios, I discovered that Fotolia has been absorbed into Adobe.

I am trying to find a log in, but i just cant find a way. I try to log in with my old log in details but not managing. Does anyone have a support email that i can write to? When i try to click on the support links on the adobe sites, they want me to create an account. But i must already have an account, where my old Fotolia portfolio now is. Funnily enough, I am receiving emails to my email address with sales stats, but there is no way to use these emails to contact someone.

Really grateful for any help!

« on: May 14, 2015, 08:01 »
Hi all,
I have lost an istock MR. However, it has been used for an image on my portfolio. I would like to use it to upload some more photos from the same shoot. Is there a way i can download my own, already uploaded, MR?

Photo Critique / Rejected at SS
« on: April 21, 2014, 21:34 »
Hi i am having bad luck with SS. While overall my acceptance is around 75-80, lately its been around 20 with SS. And i usually just bite it and shoot on. But this one confuses me. It is rejected due to: Poor Lighting--Image has exposure issues and/or incorrect white balance.
What am i not seeing? Help appreciated!

Symbiostock - Hosting / What size do i need
« on: September 07, 2013, 01:37 »
Hi am trying to register my new domain, and was wondering what webspace i should go for? I have used one.com in the past, and they have been really good. Their starting offer of 5 gb is for free for one year. Then they go up to 30 gb for 2.60 euro per month. What do i need? I dont have a big portfolio, hoping to have 1000 pictures by the end of the year

Symbiostock - General / How important is the name?
« on: September 07, 2013, 00:04 »
Hi i have a domain which was supposed to be used for something else but the work is just getting nowhere. Since it is there, i was thinking maybe i should use it for symbiostock. But the name is not optional: it is my personal name. What is your take on the name of the site?

General Stock Discussion / When to post
« on: August 12, 2013, 02:15 »
Goodmorning! A small reflection: am in Sweden and shooting a lot of summer images. Summer is however soon over and stock sites are asking for autumn, halloween, even christmas content. SHould i upload these images now, or would it be better to save them to spring? Does it matter when i upload seasonal content?

Thanks for advice!

Adobe Stock / Categories
« on: June 28, 2013, 23:33 »
Hi all
sorry if this has been asked before but couldnt find anything in the archives:

Just wondering re fotolias categories: when processing images, the categories seem totally random. I can only see 10 main categories, and they all have confusing numbers that seem to indicate that there are other categories in between that are not visible. Am i missing something?

Cameras / Lenses / Wideangle for canon
« on: May 09, 2013, 08:14 »
Hi i need to buy a wideangle for my canon 50d. Have been recommended two: either Canon EF 17-40/4.0L USM or a Canon EF 16-35/2.8L II USM.

As you pro's know, one is twice the price of the other. Is it worth saving for the more expensive one? Would love to hear your comments

Shutterstock.com / Problem with receiving payment
« on: April 05, 2013, 05:37 »
Hi!
I was sent a payout check by Shutterstock last year, which unfort didnt make it to me. I have been in contact with them, and they have acknowledged that the check hasnt been cashed and they can transfer to paypal. Last time they wrote, a couple of months ago, they said i had to confirm my paypal account, which i did.
Since then it has gone dead.
I have written and written, but get no reply.
Does anyone have a good email to contact them through, as the submit email doesnt seem to have anyone looking into it.

Cheers

Hi all!
I know there was another similar thread, but it was a bit old so am starting it a fresh... I cannot upload my 10 test images via browser. Have tried for a couple of weeks now, and almost everytime it uploads BUT then it says the file could not be processed - unknown error. Have tried to write to them but no reply. Anyone knows what to do?

Photoshop Discussion / When is it too much?
« on: January 03, 2013, 04:48 »
Hi am struggling with the amount of tweaking i can do in photoshop, and need help!!

When i look around on all amazing stock images, my conclusion is that most are seriously photoshoped. You agree? I just cant understand how those amazing greens, blues, popping crispness is created if not in photoshop... And i want to do it too! But whenever i try to tweak my images a bit, i almost always get the images rejected. I am told i have overfiltered, over processed etc.

So i guess i have to learn more, get better! But how?! I have searched for help, tried to find classes, tutorials, books but i just find the general stuff. I can do a cool pic good enough to show off on a website, but not to get through the inspectors quality control. I think i need more advanced help. How do i get to the next level? Anyone knows where i can go?
I shoot RAW and fix most of general issues in the RAW program before i open the file in photoshop.
Thank you in advance

Alamy.com / Approval of first batch
« on: October 29, 2011, 05:03 »
Hi!
First of all, my apologies if this has been covered before. Did a search but couldnt find...

Am struggling with getting my first batch of 4 images approved by Alamy. Have had three batches with Failed QC. I think that my first two batches failed cause the connection got cut and i didnt upload my 4 images fully. There is no explanation as to why my first batches were rejected, only image processing error stated next to one of the images.

My third batch had an explanation for Failed QC. One of the images was soft or lacking definition. The other three has no motivation as to why they have Failed QC.  I am guessing they have failed by default as one image was soft or lacking definition. My question is: shall i take my chanses and reload the three that 'only' are Failed QC and then add another image to the mix? Or should i submit four completelly new images?
Thanks in advance

Photo Critique / Why was this rejected?
« on: September 23, 2010, 15:42 »
Hi all,
am relatively new to this game, am still trying to figure out how to create the right shots... I usually try to learn from rejections, and i feel i've learnt a lot. But then this one came along, and i am lost... To me, its a great shot, you can see it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39997852@N06/5018114409/#

I put it up on dreamstime and got the following rejection:

- Poor lighting setup, poor contrast or incorrect exposure.

I cant get it. Should i have tweaked the light on the girls face more? I am so nervous to do anything in photoshop as it has given me rejections due to over post processing. I just thought this one was shot in a lovely natural way, but seems not? What is wrong with it?

iStockPhoto.com / Change the MR
« on: April 19, 2010, 06:04 »
Dear all!
Am a very new member to the microstock community so i guess you can all imagine the hurdles i am trying to get through! I have now managed to upload several images on Dreamstime, using one MR per model. Uploading the same images to iStock, i am learning that images taken on different points in time need separate MR's. As most of my photos are of my kids, this is a huge hassle, but hey what can i do. Unfort i spent the weekend uploading loads of images to iStock, each model using the same MR. Now my question: all these will obv be rejected due to not having an acceptable MR. Is there any way i can already go in and change the MR; i.e. to delete the old ones and scan in new ones?
