I've heard that some microstockers are successfully shooting stock footage with their DSLR cameras. So far i'm complete newbie in creating footage, and i have no experience with it. But i'm thinking to try it. I have Pentax K-x with DAL 18-55mm lens. I know it is pretty amateur equipment .... But anyway, how do You think - can it create footage with enough technical quality for stock agencies?

is there anyone who create and sell adobe flash designs in microstock? how is Your luck/earnings there?

I am a microstock contributor. I create and sell mostly vector images. Some time ago i was intensively looking for a new profitable agencies where i could upload my vector works. One day in one microstocker's blog i've found good responses about Graphicriver. I've never heard about this agency before so i didn't expect much from it, but anyway i've decided to try it. Now it's about a year when i am contributor in this site and i must say i'm really happy to be there Let me share my experience with it:

Advantages:

Good sales - probably the biggest and main advantage of this site. For me it is strong no.2 earner. Only Shutterstock does better for me.
Steady sales - different microstock agencies has different search engines. In this agency number of sales rises very significantly for several days after new works are uploaded. After that it falls down a bit but still remain good. Even if new works aren't uploaded for a long time - sales doesn't drop dramatically and remains steady.
50 USD payout minimum- small payout minumum is always advantage.
Good contributor support - some time ago i had some questions about using Graphicriver, so i wrote letters to it's staff. Staff was very helpful, polite and answered quickly.
Different format works - You can submit there not only vector illustrations, but also PSD works, also logos, print templates, t-shirt designs etc.
Great stats displaying - i like thorough sales and referral stats and anyway contributor account is easy and comfortable to use.

Disadvantages:

Time-consuming file submitting process - For vectors (i don't know how for other formats) You have to prepare three different files for each design: 1)  80x80 px size JPEG thumbnail image 2) 590 px width size JPEG preview image 3) zipped file with high resolution JPEG file, vector file, and some additional formats (optional) inside.
Preparing these files requires additional efforts and time.
High rejection rate - i don't know how about other contributors, but i get a lot of rejections there - more than in other agencies. Most common reason for files rejection - design didn't fit Graphicriver's high quality standarts.

Other features:

File pricing - File price is set by Graphicriver's reviewer. It is often 2-5 USD for RF vector work zip. Sometimes this price may be different. I get 33 percent earnings per sale. This percentage also depends on how many sales contributor made overall.

So i can conclude that graphicriver has it pros and cons, but anyway it is very professional agency with big potential and it is worth to try.

It is described here as quite good earner. But i can't find many information and resposnes about it on web.  If someone of You are selling thare it would be great if You shared Your experience. Is it worth to try?

recently i've found on this blog very interesting site of one of the microstocker's - http://www.veoelmundo.com/ .  In this site photographer Holger writes about how he visits many different countries of the world and during these journeys he makes photos for microstock.
I think this kind of job - traveling photographer sounds absolutely awsome. Are there any other travelling microstockers? I've heard that travel photos are very succesful in microstock, but can this kind of bussiness payback - i mean  all travelling expenses should be huge - plane, train tickets, hotels or hostels, food, etc. Is it possible for those photos made during these travels to earn enough to compensate all those expenses?  Of course, i realize that it strongly depends from the skills of the photographer and from what countries are visited... But anyway, if You do this it would be interesting to hear something from Your experience.

I'd like to ask those, who are submitting vector images to shutterstock.com: Does many of You submit vector illustrations not only as vector eps files, but also are submitting the same illustrations as separate jpeg images? I personally used to submit vector only in eps format, but recently i've noticed that many contrubutors started to sumbit raster versions of vector file. Is it worth to do that?

I usually work with graphics  - mostly with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop new versions. A little bit with adobe flash. I'm looking for new laptop. i'm interested in this one:

How do You think - is it powerfull enough? will it work well with earlier mentioned programs. Even when artworks i'm working with are quite complex?
My budget for this computer is very limited, so i'm not looking at more expensive computers than this one

If we place vector illustration, (EPS) to Adobe Photoshop as smart object - we can scale this illustration to any size we wish without quality loss and then save it in jpeg format, in desired resolution... This is great Adobe soft feature and it usually works fine, but recently i've faced a problem with some of my vector illustrations there - when i place those vectors to photoshop, it looks awful - iillustrations are jaggy, pixelated and very low quality... I'm using Adobe illustrator CS3, Adobe photoshop CS3, vector format - eps10.
What could be wrong there? Maybe i've made some mistakes drawing vector?

It's already about a year when i'm working as contributor in microstock sites. I'm mostly working with vector illutrations. Everything is going fine .. but i have one problem - i still didn't pass istockphoto vector exam. I've failed multiple times. Two my vectors were accepted, so i need one more vector to be accepted and i will become istockphoto contributor. But also i know that when my vector illustrations were rejected last time, i' ve had to wait 6 months to submitt new works. So if i'll fail again, i guess i'll have to wait one year till i'll get another chanse. This is very important to me, so could You please advice me  - which of my works has better chanses to pass exam? What other advices could You give?
