Dreamstime.com / Refund emails from Dreamstime
« on: October 12, 2017, 14:56 »
Just received nine emails in a row from Dreamstime notifying me of customer refunds. Each were 35c subscription sales. Seriously, who would request a 35c refund??

Adobe Stock / Adobe / Fotolia sale - commissions unaffected
« on: September 01, 2015, 03:15 »
This just in from Adobe / Fotolia:

"As you know, Adobe acquired Fotolia earlier this year and later launched Adobe Stock, a stock image service integrated into Adobe Creative Cloud. As a result your images are now available to the worlds largest creative community.

Were pleased with the early adoption of the product and were happy to see that many of you have already shared your feedback of increased sales.

We will be running a promotion from September 1st to September 20th to further ensure that your images are receiving the maximum amount of exposure to potential new clients and to accelerate awareness of the site.

For a limited time, we will be offering a 50% discount on all single images purchased, 2.99 per image instead of the usual 5.99.

We wanted to inform you that, regardless of this discount occurring, your commission will be unaffected and you will continue to generate royalties at the current rate.

Many thanks
Fotolia/Adobe Stock Team"

iStockPhoto.com / RC's not increasing in line with sales
« on: August 10, 2014, 06:24 »
Just wondering how many other people are experiencing static RC totals in spite of istock sales? I'm aware that it's a known bug (there is a thread on istock forum) - but wondered how many folks here are affected. My RC totals haven't changed for at least two or three months.

I have a friend interested in submitting footage to a range of Microstock sites. I'd like to give my friend a referral code in order that I might benefit financially from sales of her footage as I've given her lots of guidance and advice thus far. Can anyone tell me which sites offer referral codes when introducing new video contributors?

Thanks.

PhotoDune / API key
« on: April 08, 2013, 08:41 »
Am I really expected to type the entire API key into my FTP client in order to upload to Photodune? Filezilla won't accept a cut-and-paste into the password box. It would be virtually impossible for me to earn enough money from Photodune to pay for the time it would take me to type that ridiculous string of characters!

iStockPhoto.com / Photo +
« on: January 04, 2013, 13:10 »
I'm an independent contributor. Could someone please explain the benefits of assigning images to "Photo +"? I've tried scouring the iStock website without joy. I assume there is a rise in price for the file and therefor higher royalty? Or maybe a higher rank in the search...?

iStockPhoto.com / Istock speed

Does anyone else notice a discernible difference in loading speed on iStock website?

General Photography Discussion / small flexible studio clamp
« on: December 04, 2012, 16:59 »
I'm looking for a small flexible (gooseneck?) double-ended clamp. Something I can clamp to a table top at one end and use the free end to hold small objects off the table, in front of the camera (eg, cutlery, etc).

Has anyone found a relatively inexpensive solution? Ideally UK supplier, please.

Thanks...

iStockPhoto.com / Thinkstock Transfers
« on: December 03, 2012, 14:34 »
Hi,

I'm Istock non-exclusive. Approx 3/5th of my istock portfolio has been transfered across to Thinkstock and Photo.com. My most recent uploads to Istock appear to transfer across immediately they are approved at Istock. However, that still leaves 2/5th of my portfolio having 'missed the boat'.

Is this a common experience? Is there anything I can easily do to have the abandoned 2/5th moved over...?

iStockPhoto.com / PP RC
« on: October 18, 2012, 17:23 »
Quick question from a relative newcomer:

Do Partner Programme sales on IS contribute to my RC? That is to say, when my PP sales come through from September should I see an increase in my Redeemed Credits as well as an increase in income?

Panthermedia.net / High rejection rate
« on: September 24, 2012, 17:52 »
I have an acceptance rate of about 85% at istock, SS, FT, etc. I just uploaded my first batch of 80 images following the approval of my initial submission at Panthermedia. They rejected about 45% of those 80 images including some images that sell almost daily at other sites. I'm quite shocked by this large rejection rate. Is this typical for Panthermedia?
