Man I am so frustrated with this. Nearly 3 years ago I bought this Nikon D1. Paid too much. Bought one charger but it is 110v and no good in Australia.
Anyone got a 240v charger they might sell?

I know lots of people head off for the holidays, and I am as well.
So, still a bit early, but Merry Christmas everyone.
I hope you enjoy the season and have lots of good times with family and friends.
Please stay safe on the roads, and remember ... take your camera!

until I reach a payout.

Last month's sales afforded me a purchase of a flash for the Canon, and a new Lensbaby Composer.
I don't see me using the lensbaby for stock, but I think i will have lots of fun with it.

This is not for stock, just for fun. I have seen some people produce great pics, and wondered if anyone has used one. Any tips?

I have just noticed that i have around 15 people on various sites I have been credited with referring. None of whom have ever made a sale. I was just wondering if others contact their referals and offer help?

Like many of you, I contributed lots of pics and gave this site lots of time to get its act together. It seemed whenever you raised an issue over the lack of sales there was an excuse and a reason why just around the corner sales would happen.
I am looking for others to join me in mass to submit to the site a SHOW CAUSE why we should not close our accounts.
Any thoughts, I think if we do it in bulk we might get a better response.

I will say at the start, I have tried to resolve this on 6 occassions and been told by the site I am wrong.
Since December 2008 my earnings have appeared one day, and then dissappeared the next. They go up and down seemingly without reason. Also, I have disabled all the subscription options and made all photos $50. Yet whenever I log in I see 30 cents for something.
My records show numerous sales this year which should have come in at $15 each.
There is no 2009 monthly royalty statements. I just checked again and my total accrued is 30 cents.
Anyone else having problems?

I guess most of us face the same issues working alone in micro. You get down in the mouth from rejections, sales are down, you run dry of ideas, and consider throwing in the towel.
So what do you people do to keep your chin up?

I was wondering if anyone had success using PhotoShelter as their ecommerce site for direct sales?
I have an idea I believe I can market direct to buyers but it is unsuitable for micro, in fact most of the agencies reject these images. All I want is an ecommerce site to sell from.
Tell me your stories please.

When I went to request a payout the reading said I have no sales!

I would like to see a stock photography agency that markets its portfolio direct to the customers.
Like, they ring designers, make appointments, turn up and go over the features and benefits of dealing with them direct to a buyer. Build a relationship with faces and actually see what the designer is doing.
In the USA, I am sure they could focus on NY or LA and find so many sales they never knew existed. Sell subscriptions, or ad-hoc sales.
Good old fashioned sales theory.

We all get a bit busy this time of year, so I thought I would pass on my wishes to all the forum.
Been a hectic year for business, and we lost Miz.
It is hot as hell here in Australia, and that must be odd for you folk about to see anothe white Christmas.
So anyway, from Brisbane, in Queensland, in Australia ... please have a great time over the break, stay safe, and remember to enjoy the times you get with your friends and family.
Cheers.

Just sold my 30D on eBay for good money, and a 10-20 Sigma (for $250 more than I paid - thanks exchange rates!) and hoping to buy mine on Saturday.
The shop promised me a great deal.

from psdonline ... SuperStock Bankrupt; Masterfile In Deal To Acquire U.S. Assets Dec 4, 2008

By Daryl Lang
Long-suffering stock photo distributor SuperStock has filed for bankruptcy, leaving its contributors in the lurch and opening the way for rival Masterfile to acquire the agencys U.S. assets for $1.5 million.
Under SuperStock's bankruptcy plan, Masterfile or whoever ultimately acquires SuperStock will have the option of taking over some, all or none of SuperStocks contracts with 1,200 photographers. SuperStock owed about $1,162,000 in royalties to photographers at the end of September, according to a court filing.
Photographers may see their contracts turned over to Masterfile, sold to some other company or terminated altogether. If a photographers contract is terminated, any royalties paid are likely to be pennies on the dollar. SuperStock's parent company estimates there will be enough money to cover only 4 percent of its debts to unsecured creditors.
Whatever the eventual outcome, it is another headache for stock photographers, who are already dealing with declining prices, changing contracts and industry consolidation.
On December 4, the holding company that owns SuperStock, A21, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection at the United States Bankruptcy Court in Jacksonville, Florida, where the company is based. The filing covers the U.S. division of SuperStock and the other company A21 owns, a poster and merchandise seller called ArtSelect. Together, the companies employed about 150 people at the end of 2007.
A21 was founded in 1998 and has never had a profitable year. In recent years it has been a revolving door for managers. Since 2006, A21 has lost a founder/CEO, chairman/president, chief financial officer, and chief creative officer.
The bankruptcy plan will see A21 divesting everything it owns.
A21 says Masterfile has agreed to buy SuperStocks U.S. operations for $1.5 million. The Toronto-based stock agency, an established company with a good reputation among photographers, has put down a $50,000 deposit on the deal, A21 says. But the deal could change if the bankruptcy court finds somebody willing to pay more.
SuperStocks U.K. division is not in bankruptcy, but A21 says it plans to sell that division to a third party as well. As yet, that party has not been named.
A21 plans to sell ArtSelect to a New Jersey company called Metaverse for $700,000. A21 paid about $10 million for ArtSelect in May 2006.

Now they are available, I see them discounted from the RRP of $4199AUD down to $3699AUD.
$3699 = $2404USD ... but.
If you are from overseas, you get a 10% GST reduction. The overseas or Duty Free price I was quoted yesterday is $2187USD.

Oh, in USD please.

My internet connection gives me so much grief. And the worst bit is I am locked into this mob for another 12 months on contract.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me who accepts the images on CD?
It would be so much better if I could post them.
