Dreamstime.com / Need Urgent Advise
« on: August 01, 2007, 13:05 »
Hello;

I have recently sold EL on dreamstime.  I have suddenly discovered that the photo is being reproduced and sold on EBAY.  Here is a link... http://cgi.ebay.de/LIGHTHOUSE-Bild-H-60x90-sehr-athmosphaerisches-Design_W0QQitemZ170134958044QQihZ007QQcategoryZ19782QQcmdZViewItem
The photo itself seems to be the merchendise (print).  Is this all within the EL framework?  Thanks.

Alamy.com / First RF sale on Alamy
« on: June 19, 2007, 15:25 »
I know that many people here submit stuff on alamy on RM basis.  I had a batch of images there that I have decided to try on RF basis.  Had a sale.  At the lowest res.... it was 65 dollars!!!

Hello,
Does any one have initial reactions to Adobe Lightroom?  Is the workflow really different from photoshop?

Shutterstock.com / Submitting 3rd... No Luck so far
« on: February 17, 2007, 15:57 »
Hi all,
I guess I also need some help with the initial SS submission.  I was particularly suprised with the second application rejection--since all images were properly plastified in Neat Image.  Perhaps I am selecting too many landscapes... I would greatly appreciate it if you can give me some tips on which photos to submit.  I am attaching a link to my istock portofolio, since they seem to me to be the second toughest reviewers after SS.  Thanks for all your hep in advance.http://www.istockphoto.com/file_search.php?action=file&userID=1066046

Photoshop Discussion / Useful Photoshop Plug-ins
« on: January 29, 2007, 17:54 »
Hi all,
I am just curious how many of you photoshop users use third party plug ins in preparation of stock submissions.  I use primarily Neat Image Pro for noise reduction and Nik's Efex's for minor colour boosts.  Any excellent plugins out there useful for microstock submissions?  Please share your thoughts.

iStockPhoto.com / Creative Networks Whats the point
« on: January 21, 2007, 17:27 »
I was just curious about the entire creative network aspect of istock.  I presently do not see its usefulness, but I think thats because I dont understand why its there and its purpose.  Would someone please enlighten me.  Thanks.

iStockPhoto.com / Help needed with reviewers remarks
« on: January 18, 2007, 19:04 »
Hello all,

I need a bit of help understanding the following rejection reason, ``cannot find clear focal point,`` followed by ``perhaps reducing the image size will help.``  What do the reviewers at istock actually mean by focal point and how will reducing the image size will help.  I am not arguing with the remark, istock, etc... I actually learned a lot from their reviewers and my acceptance rate has been gradually climbing up.  But this is number one reason for the rejection I get now.  Reading the help link provided by the reviewer did not help much.  Thanks in advance for all your help.

General Macrostock / MyLoupe, Deserves a Chance
« on: January 18, 2007, 16:55 »
I think that myloupe is a good alternative to alamy (although I like alamy as well) just considering interface and submission process.  It has the potential of becoming the American Alamy... and its not very massive at the moment.  Perhaps its good time to submit images there.

Adobe Stock / How is FT for everyone these last two weeks
« on: January 17, 2007, 10:25 »
I had very strange experience with fotolia.  I had a lot of sales the week after the holidays... but last two weeks I had one sale (I never had so few on fotolia before) after my collection of images is more than doubled there.  Strange... are sales the same for everyone else.  Just wondering.

Shutterstock.com / Initial Submission, SECOND REJECTION
« on: January 10, 2007, 18:02 »
Hello, hope that you all had nice holidays.

I had my second rejection for the initial ten at SS.  Took 10 of my best selling images (images that have been accepted by all other sites I submit to), run them all through NEAT IMAGE at COMPLETE NOISE REMOVAL option (I know its a bit extreme).  Checked them all at 300 percent and got rejection for noise!!!  Hmmmm.... better try next time, I guess.  Waisted an entire day off preparing the submission.  I still dont see any noise.  I have included 4 wildlife shots (no zoos), 2 landscapes, 2 portraits, 1 food shot, 1 flower (I know I shouldnt but its my best seller on istock).   Dont know what I did wrong.

Shutterstock.com / First Shutterstock Submission
« on: December 18, 2006, 06:07 »
Dear All,

I am considering Shutterstock, but I see that there is a lot of angry people on their forum.  Is Shutterstock worth the trouble in terms of money.  What sort of images are they looking for in the original ten submission.  Any pointers and tips are highly appreciated.  I wish you all wonderful forthcoming hoidays and a happy new year.  Thanks

iStockPhoto.com / Image Posted on Designer Spotlight
« on: December 16, 2006, 14:34 »
For all the bad talk about istock, they have just send me an email to notify me that one of my images is posted on the designer spotlight http://www.istockphoto.com/design_spotlight_details.php?ID=7998
I think its pretty cool to see how your images are actually used, also a nice tearsheet for my portofolio (my photo is baobab on the lower right side).  On the other hand, should I not get another 20 cents.... just some microstock food for thought.

Alamy.com / Did Any One Have Rejections on Alamy?
« on: December 11, 2006, 07:15 »
Did any of you ever had rejections on Alamy?  So far I have 100 percent acceptance rate (already 3 major batches were submitted).  Just curious.  When submitting the original 10, I included images that were rejected at SS (which does not say much), but Alamy found them OK.  They mention that they don't check every batch or that they check it selectively.  The rate of their growth is quite amazing.

Alamy.com / Keywording on Alamy
« on: December 08, 2006, 10:55 »
I really have a hard time finding my images on alamy.  Sometimes, I have to enter 15 keywords from my list just to get to my images.  funny enough, it is organized not in order of relevance.  For examlpe, if you type in zebra, africa, safari... alamy will give you ten images of a zebra path before getting to the animals.  Any hints for keywording on alamy.  Thanks.

Istock makes a big hassle about categories and they are very specific.  Some of the other sites are much less fussy about categories and are satisfied with a couple of broad general categories?  Should I really try to list as many relevant categories on istock as possible, or do keywords take care of the search functions.  Thanks.
