Hello everyone! I posted this in the StockXpert forums already, but I thought I'd cross post it here as well: I want to give you a heads up that soon your StockXpert images will have the potential to produce even more income for you when we make them available on one of Jupiterimages' most established and respected stock photo brands--Photos.com. Photos.com was created in 2002, and since then it has built a very large and loyal customer base. I can't say too much more now, but you will receive an e-mail and sitemail within the next couple of weeks with more details about this exciting new program. This opportunity will be open to all StockXpert contributors with no restrictive exclusive committments. Until then, I invite you to visit http://www.photos.com and check it out. Thanks -Steve

Hi Guys! We've just finalized a deal with Microsoft to have a Stockxpert link appear in the left-hand nav of their very popular Microsoft Office site. We join a very short list of featured vendors (2 of which are other JI properties), and we definitely expect this to generate more traffic and revenue. You can see the link here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/default.aspxThanks! -Steve

Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know we are going to be simplifying the pricing structure of vector images.
Basically, we are going to have only two vector pricing tiers:
5 credit and 10 credit, and we will be updating the current vector prices to reflect this, so:
1 credit vectors > 5 credits 5 credit vectors > 10 credits 10 credit vectors > 10 credits 20 credit vectors >10 credits
We're doing this for a couple reasons. Many of you have indicated you don't want to sell vectors at 1 credit, and there seems to be little difference between existing 5 credit and 10 credit vectors.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, let us know.
Thanks! -Steve

Hi guys,
As I'm sure you're aware, we are still experiencing delays with your reviews, and we truly apologize for this. To get through the backlog of images and return to the fast review times, we will be suspending new uploads for 1 week starting Wednesday, December 12th at 5pm ET. We will resume uploads on December 19th, 2007 at 5 pm ET.
You will still be able to upload and attach model and property releases.
If you have any questions in the meantime, just post them here.
Thank you so much for your patience and continued support!
-Steve (and the rest of the StockXpert team).

I see some discussion going on about a couple thousand dollar sales on other sites, so I thought I'd mention we recently sold exclusive rights to an image for $10,000.
It wasn't exclusive at the time. It had been downloaded a couple hundred times already, and the contributor got 50%.
Obviously this isn't a normal occurrence, but it just goes to show that the chances of it happening are a little better if you diversify because it can happen at any site at any time.

Guys,
I'm putting together a list of UI enhancements that contributors have asked for in the past. Please let me know if there are any you would like to see on the contributor side of things. Need suggestions by tomorrow.
Thanks! -Steve

Guys,
After the previous discussion about StockXpert subscription offering, we decided to refine the contributor terms to reflect the following:
1) $.30 per download 2) Opt-Out/In at anytime
There were many differing opinions and suggestions about subscription on StockXpert, but after weighing contributor, buyer, business, and technical considerations, this is what we have decided to start with.
We will give you a couple days before launch to decide what you'd like to do, and we will send out an e-mail or site mail once functionality is ready. We're hoping to launch next week.
As I said in the StockXpert forum, we know some of you will opt-out no matter what, but for those of you on the fence, we do believe we can make subscription successful without cutting into per-download revenue. Every site is different with different dynamics and different management, so we do hope you give it a shot.
Please let us know if you have any (other) questions or comments.
Thanks! -Steve

Guys,
Just wanted to give you a heads up that we will be launching subscription very soon. I know some of you have expressed ambivalence towards subscriptions, but we are doing this because we have found that subscribers are an additional customer base.
We talked about making it optional for the contributor, but we felt it would work against the site overall because the offering wouldn't be consistent to the consumer.
The payout will be $.25 per download.
Let me know if you have any questions, and of course, comments.
Thanks! -Steve

The Photo Marketing Association International's report looks very interesting, but perhaps the cover photo provides some of the insight we need into the present/future of the industry? Does this model look familiar? http://www.pmai.org/index.cfm?ci_id=28170&la_id=1-Steve

Guys, Peter has implemented a new default ordering mechanism. You can read about it here: http://www.stockxpert.com/forum.phtml?f=showtopic&n=2134Excerpt: "The important thing is that popular new images (uploaded within a month) get special treatment which means that they may appear among the best sellers depending on their performance and competition." Thanks and good luck! -Steve

Hello! As some of you know, I've been commenting here and there in a few threads, but I haven't formally introduced myself. My name is Steve Kapsinow, and I'm the new community guy over at StockXpert (skapsinow). I was previously the editor of the graphics.com network. I've been a photog for a few years, and I shoot an old-school digital rebel (time to upgrade, I guess). I just wanted to let you know that we do read these posts and are currently reviewing the image review process. As a contributor who isn't involved in the review process (thank god and who has had his fair share of images rejected, I don't know too much more than that except what I can ascertain from experience submitting. I thank you guys for your input and comments here. If you have any (other) comments, suggestions, or questions, feel free to post them here, pm me, or visit us in the StockXpert forums. -Steve
