3 / Dreamstime 'Image Levels'
« on: August 10, 2019, 15:25 »
Have they done away with the levels? If you dig enough (Dashboard > Current Earnings > Individual Photo Stats), you can find the Image Level, but not in the portfolio or the Current Earnings as before.

4 / Updates to (SS) Similar Content Policy
« on: August 05, 2019, 10:49 »
"In order to improve the overall quality of the Shutterstock image collection, we are updating our policy for review of similar content. We avoid accepting Similar Content because it creates a poor user experience for customers and contributors by having large volumes of nearly identical images or clips. Browsing through large volumes of repetitive search results is time-consuming, and prevents customers from purchasing relevant content that fits their needs.

As a result of these stricter guidelines, some of you may encounter rejections of some types of content that was previously accepted. Please take the time to review explanations and examples provided in the support article and contact us if you have additional questions."

DepositPhotos / AI-powered categories
« on: May 03, 2019, 07:00 »
We constantly work on improving the contributor experience. To that end, we are pleased to introduce AI-powered categories.
From now on, you will not need to manually input the categories of your uploaded photos our AI system will do it for you with maximum precision. This way, youll spend less time on mundane procedures and more on creativity. You are welcome!

Best regards,

Cutcaster / Cutcaster for sale
« on: April 29, 2019, 13:35 »
"First, thank you for being part of and supporting this extensive and creative community over the years and helping us grow to tens of thousands of members and over 3.25mm files.  We couldnt be more grateful which is why were reaching out to see if you or someone in your network would be interested in helping continue the Cutcaster legacy.

As the CEO and founder of Cutcaster way back in 2008, Ive had a passion for the stock image space for years.  As the market has evolved though, so have my own business interests as a software developer.  We find ourselves in 2019 at a juncture where we would like to find a partner to take over the operation and maintenance of the library and hopefully look to grow the business.

It is fairly inexpensive to run with generally minimal overhead and we would entertain any sort of creative arrangement, including one that could also see us provide some initial technical support.

Please let me know if youd like to discuss the opportunity further or know someone that may and thank you in advance for your consideration.

General - Stock Video / iPhone Footage
« on: April 25, 2019, 12:23 »
I noticed that my iPhone allegedly shoots in 4K 30 or 60fps.

I am not asking what you shoot, but have you had any success with iPhone footage?

Encouraging sales or Meh sales?

Downloaded the newest version and it looks like a big overhaul, but very, very slow and the interface takes longer.

Any other users?

11 / Dreamstime Problems
« on: March 18, 2019, 08:48 »
Anyone else having issues with Dreamstime's "My Earnings?"

I sell stuff and the monthly stats are updating, but the earnings total hasn't moved in days...

Did someone forget to feed the hamsters turning the wheel?

12 / Alamy Tax ID Number

I know they don't send a 1099, but does anyone have their TIN?

Is anyone else's off?

They are reporting that my royalties were way more than they actually paid me.

Anyone else having an issue with Getty/ESP? All but one of my submission batches are gone.

General Stock Discussion / Frames per Second
« on: January 07, 2019, 12:45 »
Quick video question -

My camera only shoots up to 1080 HD, but I have a choice of 30fps or 60fps - do the stock sites prefer one over the other and why.

16 / Has Shutterstock returned to normal for you?

The number of downloads has S-L-O-W-L-Y gone back up but the Single & Other and On Demand have been very sluggish.

123RF / Umm, is the upload menu missing on your page too?
« on: July 18, 2018, 09:05 »
Very strange - first couldn't get the images to process, so I waited a few days to see if they could get this ironed out, and then... No upload link any more.

SS Closed early for the weekend?

"It's taking longer than usual to process your files. If you don't see all your files after refreshing, please check again later."

Only 15 of 35 made it to the submit queue.

Not a complaint thread, but I am interested because March was actually very good, and April may be less than half.

21 / Alamy Record of contract changes...
« on: April 05, 2018, 07:42 »
So this arrived this morning...

What stood out:

If you agree to Image Options you grant Alamy the right to carry out certain pre-formatting changes to the Images prior to release for licensing, and;

Alamy shall act as an agent in respect of the Images.

Just one video on Twitter had at least six release requests. Everyone wants to go viral, no one needs to get paid...

"Hi there, love the video! May we post on our channels with full credit to you?"
"Can ESPN use this on all platforms with proper courtesy?"
"This is fantastic - I'm a journalist with @Storyful news agency - would it be ok to share this video on news sites and broadcasts with credit to you?"
"Hey! Do you own this video? If so, if we agree to credit you, do you give us permission to post this content natively on all Bleacher Report and House of Highlights accounts, plus permission to show it on our affiliated TV channels?"
"Could we get permission to share your video in our posts and social platforms with credit to you?"
"Hahah, love the last guy. We are Japanese a news agency. Did you shoot this video by yourself? Could we use this in media orgs with credit?"

23 / Stupid Question Friday about Vectors
« on: January 04, 2018, 19:21 »
Hello all,

I am considering uploading vectors to Shutterstock - what format/formats does this need to be in?

I have looked for instructions but have come up blank.
