https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/09/stock-photo-marketplace-pond5-brings-on-a-new-ceo-ex-web-com-coo-jason-teichman/

"But the CEO declined to disclose any sales data."

Interesting facts:

Jason (41, 3 kids) holded more-less every single title in his career - used to be COO, CMO, SVP, VP, General Manager, Director... He spent 8 years with American Express and 6 years at http://www.web.com/

No experience with stock media, as per his LinkedIn profile.

And in June 2016 he sold 30K of shares at web.com - http://www.franklinindependent.com/web-com-group-inc-nasdaqwebs-insider-jason-teichman-unloaded-30000-shares/

His earnings in 2015, $1.42 million - http://executives.findthecompany.com/l/63311/Mr-Jason-Teichman

Ex CEO Ryan Scott who served for 1 year only left P5.

With hundreds of millions of users, PowerPoint is the most successful presentation tool in the world; its the short-hand of business communications. Were delighted to be working with the Office team to offer incredible images directly in the application.

What about Shutterstocks competition in this space?
Oringer doesnt seem too worried, and brings it back to Shutterstocks culture. If were committing to the right strategy and innovation, we dont need to pay any attention to what the competition is doing, he says. We focus on executing our plan, and moving forward.

It is with a painful sadness that I must inform you that we have lost our friend Jonathan at the beginning of the month to a fatal accident. Jonathan was much beloved by everyone who had the honor of working with him here at Pond5, as well as his diverse and numerous community of friends and family. I can without exaggeration say that he loved working with you all and doing what he did, and his absence will be felt for a long time.

We will all miss him greatly, but will try to move forward with his influence at heart. Wisdom, Power, and Courage.

Jonathan pretty much single handedly moderated these forums and kept you folks informed, and it will be hard to live up to the great job he did, but we'll try. The forum moderation will be in good hands with his teammates - we're here for you.

Sincerely,
Lawrence

On 9 July 2015, the European Parliament might destroy photography.

The Freedom of taking photos in public places is under attack. Until now, in most countries in Europe you were safe to take and publish photographs that are taken from public ground This is called Freedom of Panorama. When you were on vacation, you could take a photo from the London Eye and share it with your friends on Facebook*. If someone wanted to pay you for using this photo, that was okay as well. Both is about to change may destroy photography as we know it.

You have to be afraid of those close to your that have Android devices.
The seemingly normal action of taking a picture at a private party is now Googles own private CCTV network in action. Photos will be uploaded automatically to Googles cloud, analysed and categorised. Even if you choose not to use any of their services, they will be able to build a profile of you, based on photos and videos your friends take of you.

This month, painter and photographer Richard Prince reminded us that what you post is public, and given the flexibility of copyright laws, can be shared and sold for anyone to see. As a part of the Frieze Art Fair in New York, Prince displayed giant screenshots of other peoples Instagram photos without warning or permission. According to Vulture, nearly every piece sold for $90,000 each.  :o
