Ok these are my dollar earnings for July 2009
SS 37.9% DT 17.7% FT 16.5%
BS 7.5% IS 7.5% 123 5.8% StockXpert 3.8% * FP 1.9% CanStockPhoto 1.4%
Actually for my pound earnings FT should be #2 as a FT credit is worth 75p and a DT credit is worth about 60p. DT have been in a downward trend since April.
* worst month here in the last 18 months I had opted out of sub sales nearly a year ago so the Jupiter unlimited photo.com switch to iStock shouldn't have made a difference.
Sales at FP were dead until yesterday I noticed our cut is now 50%

This used to be favourite time of the month counting up all those $, now its quite depressing.
SS 36.7% DT 19.9% FT 14.3% WM-08
IS 8.1% WM-08 123 5.8% WM-07/08 BS 5.2% WM-07/08 StockXpert 5.1% CanStockPhoto 2.7% FP 2.2%
I only have 18 months of stats to look at but overall it was the worst month in the last 18 months with the exception of December'08.

Mine has risen to 19.8% and sub sales are decreasing every month.
I presume the rest of you are seeing a similar trend?

Supposedly they have 8,230 movie clips. I thought they would have waited until they had a few more.
I also thought they would be more PAL friendly with their strong user base in Europe but HD 1080 clips are only available in a downsized NTSC version.
If anyone works out how to browse within a footage portfolio let me know I want to check what they actually accepted of mine.
If anyone has a sale speak up!

I think I may have been reading too many reports on the credit crunch if I am referring to Jan-March as the 1Q (1st quarter) anyways
Mar Feb Jan Sub 74.6% 68.1% 72.8% OD 18.3% 14.8% 15.3% EL 3.2% 9.8% 3.3% REF 1.0% 1.1% 1.1% CD 0.3% 0.1% 0.2% VID 2.6% 6.2% 7.3%
So March wasn't a great month for footage but those on-demand sales are getting impt

I had my first acceptance e-mail on Friday 27th March for a clip which was submitted on 30th of January.
It seems they intend to sell both Pal and NTSC versions I submitted a PAL version. Does any other site do this?
The big question when will the videos go on sale???

For all you stats junkies Now on your uploads and earnings page at Dreamstime you can download an zipped excel file (which will also open with "open office calc") There are multiple sheets listing your files in chronological order only with DLs, views and total earnings. The first sheet lists all your accepted files then subsequent sheets list all the files accepted in a particular month of December 2008, November 2008 etc with DLs, views and total earnings up to 31/12/2008. If you scroll down to the bottom of that sheet you can see how many files you uploaded that month and how much they have earnt until 31/12/2008. Also if you know the month of a particular shoot you can quickly check to see what files were the earners. There are no thumbnails just the image ID and the title but with the former you can see the image in question.

same feature that FT have had for a while
Now at SS once selected, when your cursor passes over an image thumbnail in the search results a large watermarked thumbnail appears.
It may increase sales when the thumbnails doesn't do their images justice.

Now is the winter of my discontent. Usually I experience a summer slump and December sucks but otherwise a gradual increase throughout the year however I seemed to have peaked in September 2008 and the a downward spiral starts again. Updated figures SS 44.3% 3WM08* DT 17.5% 3WM08 FT 14.3% 2BM08 StockXpert 6.8% BS 5.5% 2WM08 123 5.4% WM08 IS 4.8% WM08 no surprise FP 1.4% 3WM08 3rd worst month 2008 2MB08 2nd Best Month 2008 * actual number of 25/day DLs at SS lowest since February 2007 Only bright spots the exhange rate from $/ is still good for microstock earnings in dollars and VAT (UK sales tax) was reduced today (1st December) to 15% (from 17.5%) so my dollar earnings will go further I expect December will suck as usual so fingers crossed for 2009

If you want to comment on whether the percentage/total increased/decreased from last month which seemed to a better month for some people, feel free below.
For me August 3% of SS earnings from OD sales September 9.1% of SS earnings from OD sales October 9.3% of SS earnings from OD sales but less $$

I am referring to the poll that was sent by e-mail from SS with the chance to win a graphics tablet. I saw from another thread quite a few contributors wanted a crack down on contributors spamdexing their images. I suggested more comprehensive stats well at least being able to click on an image and find out how many DLs and DL/month. What other things did you suggest/moan about? I see they were floating the idea of a keywording service like DT have.

I know I am very early but I like to start this thread. Updated Saturday morning SS 45.5% DT 17% FT 11.5% IS 7.6% 123 6.0% BigStock 5.3% StockXpert 5.2% FP 1.8% Well I suspected it was not a best month at any site and overall a rather disappointing month, I think I overachieved in September. I usually see a steady increase after the summer slump until Christmas. The only bright note is that the exchange rate for US dollars to pounds has changed in my favour, hopefully the dollar can remain strong until the agencies send me my money.

Well hopefully its the end of the Summer slump slightly down on July overall. I don't expect many sales on a Sunday on the labour day weekend so here goes. Figures have been updated as June is over The summer slump seems to have begun at some sites but not others so a fairly average month overall. SS 47.2% DT 17.7% * FT 8.4% # StockXpert 7.2% 123 6.5% IS 6.2% BS 5.9% # FP 0.6% # * BME at DT by 22c # worst month of 2008 For any of you with a video camera I have recently made a webpage comparing the three principle sites selling footage Micro Stock Footage guide

SS 44.8% BME DT 16.4% BME FT 11.1%
BS 7.1% StockXpert 7.0% IS 6.5%
123 4.7% FP 2.1% BME SPM 0.2% CanStockPhoto 0.1%
Actually less downloads at Shutterstock than usual but the earnings/DL increased plus extended licences and a run on footage clip downloads brought up the total.
The subscriptions at StockXpert seems to be cutting into my earnings
