General Stock Discussion / Keywords and image descriptions
« on: February 23, 2019, 10:22 »
I have two questions about the images I uploaded.

I uploaded most of my image portfolio all at once to shutterstock.

And I have not been so carefull with the description and keywords and I think this is a reason I am not selling so well.

For example for my Dubai trip I uploaded like 200 photos and used a general description like like: dubai travel photography

And also for keywords, I used the same ones on each image.
Now for a few images I did add a proper description and keywords, and those are the images that are selling now, the ones with the general description barerly sell.

So I guess a specified description is super important?

Also is  there any point in changing the description from the images I uploaded months ago?
It will take some work changing descriptions of a few hundred images, but if this will lead to a lot more sales its worth it.

I started uploading on adobe stock and shutterstock this year, and now i want to continue to sell my work on other microstock websites, all the other microstock agencies I checked there was only a possibility to fill in keywords and descriptions for one picture at a time.

I have quite an amount of pictures and sometimes there is like 50 pictures about the same subject, so i dont really want to fill in manual keywords for each pictures.

Are there other agencys like adobe stock and shutterstock where you can fill in those keywords for multiple pictures at once?
Looking for some advice :)

General Stock Discussion / Adding metadata/description in LR/PS
« on: August 02, 2018, 09:07 »
I started a couple of months with adding my pictures to stock photography sites.

And I have always added the keywords and descriptions on the stockphotography websites.
I have seen tutorials online where people adding keywords and subscriptions directly in the metadata in a program such as lightroom.

I was wondering if this is double work, or is it a lot better to add keywords both in the metadata and on the stock site itself?

Is adding metadata that what makes stockphotos show up in google image search?

I know this is a basic questions but I could not find the answer anywhere.
