General Stock Discussion / Getting paid from Alamy
« on: April 06, 2012, 20:08 »
Hi all.  I have had one sale at Alamy and it was a year ago this month.  It was a nice size sale, but my profit was under the $175 payout.  I thought just maybe I could pay a processing fee to finally after a year get a payout.  No luck.  The person / persons I've been e-mailing with have given me brief answers that are basically that I'm out of luck.  I've been told to submit more images so I can make more sales.  Period!  I even checked the contract to see if I terminated my contract with them if I would get a final payout and I couldn't find anything regarding that.

It's so frustrating knowing I have over $100 hat's been sitting out there earning interest for another company which they already made a chunk of change on and I can't touch it!

Anyone have any info on what I could do?

Thanks bunches,
Connie

While doing a photo search I found one of my images at Fotosearch.  http://www.fotosearch.com/sc/CSP094/0947275/  Just wondering who this is and how my image got there and more than anything... do I get paid for this since my name isn't anywhere on the image!!!

Thanks,
Connie

I have quite a few city editorial, and event shots that would make good editorial shots but I need to know who accepts them.

Thanks,
Connie

General Stock Discussion / I'M SO JAZZED!!!!
« on: May 10, 2008, 21:00 »
Today I went to my local "Street Fair" where local businesses have booths and also fire dept. etc..

As I'm walking by a booth for the Coast Guard I stop and admire a large photo of Boston harbor on their booth background.  I'm thinking, "wow, that looks JUST like one of my stock photos which I've sold many times, but I don't recall there being certain boats in it".  So I go home and look at my photo... it IS my shot!!!  I went back to the fair but they had already taken the booth apart and were packing to leave.  One of the people took my e-mail and promissed to send photos they took of the booth.  He said they photo has been used in several other media designs.

Last month I'm in Los Angeles magazine and this month with the US Coast Guard... wish I was making REAL money for this!

Alamy.com / Keywords on Alamy
« on: February 13, 2008, 12:38 »
I'm confused about keywording on Alamy.  With the 3 different levels of keywords, when people do a search do all those words come into play?  My pics are all active but the only one I could find in a search said "no keywords" at the bottom of the page.

I'm confused!

Thanks,
Connie

Ready to upload but I guess they're not ready for me.   :-[

123RF / 123... yawn
« on: January 27, 2008, 19:02 »
So far I have 123 images at 123RF.  Since the begining of December I've had a total of 2 sales.  One a subscription and one a credit.  Is it worth continuing uploading to this site or a waste of time?

I wanted to give Vectors a try and was wondering if there was any easy software that had a trial download so I could try before I buy.

Thanks!

Crestock.com / Model Release Needed (funny)
« on: December 21, 2007, 15:29 »
First off, I love the less than 24 hours review time my first batch of images. I do seem to have a model release issue though.  I submitted a single image late last nightand saw today that hey are waiting for a "model release" before it's accepted.

"Attach model releases to all photos with recognizable human faces."

Here's the image:

So I wrote to them:

>My most recent uploaded image, "Cockroach on Hand" is in pending waiting for a model release. "Attach model releases to all photos with recognizable human faces."  So my question, are you wanting a model release for my hand or the cockroach? LOL I can send one for my hand but the cockroach has trouble holding a pen.<

Think they'll still require a MR?  Now to glue the little New Years hat on Squish and shoot some more...

Smiles,
Connie

General Stock Discussion / FTP... how?
« on: December 21, 2007, 00:44 »
Real newbie question here, but, how do you add the information (FTP?) to your photos?  This one by one key wording is killing me!

Thanks,
Connie

General Stock Discussion / How do you organize?
« on: November 29, 2007, 18:10 »
I just started submitting to the big 5 + Alamy and I am going nuts trying to go back and forth between each site know what I've submitten, when, etc..  So I started an Excel file with a tab for each company and have my submissions listed, etc..

Does anyone have an easy alternative, or do you just not worry about it and not keep track.

Thanks,
Connie

General Stock Discussion / Is there any money to be made?
« on: November 28, 2007, 17:04 »
I'm just starting in the stock photo market and I was told not to even deal with the companies such as iStock.  Contrary to what I was told I would like to try them out.  Is anyone here actually making money?

Thanks,
Connie
