a few posts were removed from this thread for back and forth bickering / insulting.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Sales have tanked big time
« on: October 29, 2011, 02:34 »
1 post (and a few replies to that post) was removed from this thread for unnecessary (rude / racist / crude) content and the original poster temporarily banned.

3
One comment removed for adding nothing to the conversation other than insults - from the same user who had a similar comment removed earlier in this thread.

Said user has been banned for a week.

4
one recent post was removed for containing insults.

Post your thoughts and comments but keep the insults out of it.  Let's keep this discussion somewhat civilized. Even if we don't agree with Chad / Fotolia's opinion, we can treat him with respect when he makes the effort to come here and respond to our comments.

Thanks for posting a response Chad.

5
A stack of posts have been removed for back and forth attacks and not discussing the topic at hand.

StockFresh / Re: Wow Stockfresh!
« on: August 24, 2011, 17:33 »
13 posts were moved to the 'hidden area' of this thread.  Please keep your comments and back and forth discussion respectful of all parties.  Calling people names or insulting each other doesn't help the conversation at all.

the back and forth insulting, portfolio bashing and criticizing posts have been removed.

Off Topic / Re: Why are you anonymous?
« on: August 10, 2011, 11:08 »
WOW.

This discussion is making me not want to post at all anymore. Whether it would be anonymously or not.

Just because someone has a "real" identity doesn't mean that it prevents them from flinging nasty remarks around.

So whoever the poster may be (anonymous or not) they either treat their fellow forum buddies with respect or not - regardless of status.

It's the job of the moderators or forum owners to keep their sandbox clean if members are stepping over the line.

It has absolutely nothing to do with anonymity.

at the risk of sounding like a power-hungry admin troll....
I think you are quite right in this post.  Anonymous or not, there is no reason (although apparently it is more tempting) to get nasty.  We should be able to post intelligently and respectfully.  In retrospect I think I have let the language get out of hand in many cases and hope to do a better job at moderating in the future.  I'm not talking about limiting conversation or limiting the debate of an idea or a change in a site - simply the use of the language used to express ones opinion.  I don't think it adds to the conversation to use harsh or vulgar language.  such posts can be expected to be removed and the user eventually banned (at least temporarily) if they continue.

I'll lock this thread now.  Both sides have made their case and things are in the works to resolve the situation.

User Shank_ali has been banned for assuming the identity of Congent Marketing.  Taking the user name of another member and pretending to post as them is obviously unacceptable.

Pixmac / Re: Dreamstime and Pixmac Investigation
« on: July 22, 2011, 11:07 »
it's nice to hear people's opinion and kind of Zager to jump into this firepit trying to answer some of the questions.. so this thread will be left open a little longer but if people keep making libelous statements it will be locked

That sounds a bit like Zager can spout anything he likes but if anyone disputes his version of events it will be deemed 'libelous'. Personally I'm inclined to believe DT's explanation and actions.

I think this thread should be witness to the exact opposite.  People have been very free to say their thoughts on Pixmac here.  I tried very hard to remove as little as possible anywhere there was an edit (always noted with a *)  It was always just a word or two or short statement with libelous content (stating factually that an entity (person or business) is a criminal or similar when such hasn't been proven by a court of law)

update: one member requested their posts be removed from this thread.  I have removed their posts as requested (the posts are still kept, but in a hidden area)... this thread is but a skeleton of what it used to be, so if a conversation doesn't make sense, you know why.

as exciting as this thread looks like it is about to become, it should probably be locked before it starts...

A number of posts were removed from the thread due to black humor, sorry if the moderation seemed 'harsh', i realize it was just jokes.  It has been a while since anything was removed due to black humor.. probably not since miz was around :)  but being an international group, not everyone gets the humor, and death and violence are touchy subjects to joke about.

This topic has been moved to Garbage Bin.

It was just complaining - not asking any questions or trying to solve a problem.
