Some of my images on there too, with identical keywords as on Fotolia and with the Fotolia watermark. Interesting!

I only have a small port, but have had 4 ELs from 508 sales in the last six months (1:127). Looks like I should be reasonably pleased with that ratio.

I wondered what was going on. Had a typical month's earnings in just two days; all $2.00 sub sales!

No change for me. I too have a small portfolio and hardly upload anything these days. January though, will be my first pay-out from Shutterstock in consecutive months. I'm quite pleased with that. Perhaps it should motivate me to shoot some more stock and get uploading again!

You could try posting images on iSpot. Lots of visitors willing to help.

An answer is almost impossible. But one or two years ago I read here, that ca. 400 pictures in the portfolio should be give an avarage of approximately 100 downloads per month. The amount of the payment, of course, depends on the status of the contributor.
Yes, I have around 400 images on SS (photographs though), and get around 100 downloads/month. Not sure that's particularly helpful though!

... Is that file list we used to have still accessible somewhere and I am just overlooking it??

When using "My Dashboard"; it's under My Files, Manage my Files. I struggled to find it too ...

Hi, I just noticed that Fotolia V3 is now online. Hopefully everything will be working like clockwork

I'm getting "Page not Found" when I try to log in ...

Sorted - "Favourites" link pointing to a now non-existent page!

I contacted Support with the same problem. They apologised and said that a whole load of files had become "corrupted" and had missed review. They "reset" them and reviewed them within 24 hrs.

Does anyone still Upload there besides newbies?? Just curious?????

Just out of interest, what do people feel are criteria for being re-categorised from newbie to non-newbie? Looks like stopping uploading to 123 is being proposed to one them! I must still be a newbie - sigh ...

I'd also recommend trying out the Tamron 90mm F2.8 1:1 Macro lens, if you haven't already. It's a great lens, I've not seen any adverse comments about it.

I uploaded about 50 images months ago, then gave up. I just looked and saw that I've had a sale last month. I might start uploading again; even occasional sales at 12.5 Euros are worthwhile.

I just had a site mail on iStock saying that one of my images of a (rather well-endowed) bull had been modified with additional keywords; including "udder"!

That cheered me up a bit, after my worst month there this year ...

Interestingly, I received my payment about 4 hours after the email!

I've definitely experienced an increase in $/download over time. I suppose there are many factors affecting this; changes in pricing structures on the sites, improved technique over time, larger images from my 5D.

One thing I have noticed since upgrading, is a reduction in "noise" rejections from SS. But like many others here, I still get a bewildering number of rejections for "over-filtered" images on virtually unedited pics, shot in RAW and with "L" glass. All part of the game!

I think that upgrading kit is a natural progression in the development of a photographer. I suspect though, that this is not the major factor in increasing micro-stock sales.

General Stock Discussion / Re: All time earnings breakdown
« on: September 05, 2008, 02:00 »
I'm a "relative" newbie, with around 300 images on most of my current sites and 200 on iStock. I "practised" on LO for a while before venturing out to the others! All-time earnings (to end of August) were:

SS - 34.35%
IS - 21.59%
DT - 11.71%
LO - 11.00%
FT -  8.78%
BigStock - 4.74%
123 - 4.31%
StockXpert - 3.53%

Was surprised to see that LO was my 4th best earner ...

Oh well, I certainly messed that up! Managed to add a cockerel and a robin to the Warm Beverages lightbox. I've deleted the code from the iStock descriptions. Do I need to do anything else?

Sorry ...

« on: June 26, 2008, 09:49 »
I've just received my final (June) payout from LO; 4 days early and without any prompting. Presumably, everyone else is receiving theirs too. I wonder if all the Reviewers got paid.

I'm really relieved that LO seem to be honouring their debts. There were many doubters ...

I just bought a Sandisk Extreme CF card reader that I use on a USB 2.0 connection. It downloads RAW files from my 5D at about one image per second. MUCH faster than the old reader I had.

I always had a soft spot for LO, probably because it was the first microstock site I discovered. I started submitting there from very early in their (and my) microstock career. Also managed to earn around $300.00 and to gain the confidence and experience to submit to the others (as I discovered them).

I've submitted two $60.00+ payment requests since the closure was announced. The first was paid yesterday (3 days late), but safely in my PayPal account! The last is due in the final June payout.

I would have had some doubts about getting the payments if it hadn't been for Bryan personally confirming that contributor payments would  be made. LO may have failed as a business, but I always felt that Bryan was honourable. We will have to wait and see about the June payments. But at the moment, I reasonably confident that all agreed contributor payments will be made.

« on: May 16, 2008, 02:36 »
...same here! Maybe I`m to fresh with 5 days on SS, but there are some variations every day..My best day was with 25 sales, but 10 is my average..Is that normal or I have to work harder, `cause just have ~30 photos in my gallery?! Thanks

I suspect that if you don't add to your portfolio, that 10 DLs/day average will start dropping. This is most contributor's experience on SS. I had nearly 300 DLs on my first full month on SS (last July). I haven't bettered that yet, even though I've added many more images.

You've got some good stock-worthy shots on there though.
