Imo, it is not worth sending the whole port and doing all the work of uploading for just $100 if it is not going to continue generating money.

It is definitely not worth $0 !

Here the response from the Deposit Photos team.

"According to the new conditions of incentive programs we have limited
access to the Promotion Program for the most photographers. It is connected
with great amount of works of inadequate quality sent the photographers who
participated only in order to receive payments under the Promotion Program.
As a result of their bad faith, we have tested many poor-quality
photographs; and in case of rejections of such works we heard accusations
of too stringent selection.

As a result, it was decided to restrict access to the Promotion Program
and allow it only for top-level photographers. During the check of the sent
works inspectors rate overall quality of photos of each individual author.
If the inspector sees improvement of the overall quality of works, a low
percentage of rejections, he can show loyalty and activate the Promotion
Program."

....hmmm - i just registered yesterday assuming the promotion was still on. and i just re-checked on depositphotos' website (http://submit.depositphotos.com/promo.php). it doesn't say anyting about what you guys got in their email. sounds quite fishy to me if i can't be in that promotion programm anymore...  :-[

Quite fishy indeed.

I signed up and was approved at the end of February, but before March 1.  Submitted an initial batch and I am not being given the promotion.  100% of initial batch approved.

Sent an email and havent had a response from DP.

I am not liking my initial experience so far. I will let you know if something changes.

......

So, briefly, I may disable the images from micro then submit them to Getty and hope they will select them as RF. In case they attach a RM license, I will have the option to delete them. Good to know.

I would think that if you have an image on micro and it is downloaded even one time, then there is an "active liscense" on the image and would not be permissible per the Getty directions that you have indicated.

General Stock Discussion / Artiloo.com?

Found my images on Artiloo.com...

Looks like it is an affiliate of one of the other sites, but which one?  Any idea?

Again, same here.

Our $ 59.99 investment was worthwhile!!

MIZ, we thank you!! ;D

Works everytime!

On another note, I just saw the blog/thread in the Istock community news indicating that they have been having search issues the past several weeks due to server issues (or lack of).   Wonder if this isnt part of it?

Seems to be picking back up just a little since I started the post.  Would need an awesome 2nd half of the month to just get back to normal for me.

Shutterstock seems to still be on fire for me.

Wow, the Alexa graph is really stunning!  I just did a comparison between ISP, SS, DT, and FT.

I had put the slower sales down the the summer slump, but the other three seem to be pretty even while only ISP shows a really sharp decline over the last month.

My numbers at istock have only dropped by about 15% though, not 50% as the Alexa graph indicates.  It makes me wonder if there is something up at Alexa.

Could they have changed the way istock's traffic is calculated or something?  Hard to believe a 50% drop in a month when my numbers aren't showing it.

Yeah - I just found it strange as IStock is one of my most consistent earners.  If they perform anywhere near normal for me, I was looking at a BME this month.

Would also add that my gallery is all travel photography if that has anything to do with it.

Having a horrible month on IstockPhoto so far.  I normally go with the ebb and flow of stock earnings, but in this case I am on pace to have my lowest earnings in 2 years on that site!    Making it even stranger, I had my 2nd BME on ISP last month.

SS is doing rather well, but not enough to make up for it.

Also, the traffic based on Alexa seems to have crashed for ISP beginning in mid-June.

Anyone noticing the same thing?

Adobe Stock / Re: How do I make Fotolia Work?
« on: March 02, 2008, 13:33 »
I just keyword all my images with Fotolia in mind. Other sites either keep the order of keywords (which is OK) - or re-order them as they see fit (alphabetical). This way I save myself hassle. The only problem is that with some places titles are limited to 64 characters, the description has to be a minimum of 7 words etc. - but generally Fotolia does not give me any hassle with uploading (and with acceptance, after initial problems).

I do the same - keyword with Fotolia in mind.

They havent been historically good for me (travel photography), but as of the last few weeks, they have made good progress for me.  I've been in the top 1000 ranking the past few weeks which is higher than normal.

Still it is nowhere as good as SS or ISP for me.
