Hi,

numerous agencies - FT and BS come to mind first - ask you to specify whether files you upload are 'photos' or 'illustrations'. For those of you who upload 3d renders, what do you choose? It seems that they accept images no matter what is selected, though. But then again, buyers can filter 'photos' or 'illustrations' out... What option do you prefer?

Thanks

Good on microstockgroup for replying and giving you those links but I don't think he really answered your question.  You want the maximum resolution you can supply to get the maximum benefits without going too big because renders take so bloody long to render sometimes, correct?

Yes, that's correct. I did not have a good look on my tiny phone screen, now when I'm back home I see that wasn't quite what I was asking for. Anyway, thanks microstockphoto.co.uk.

If a 3D image is going to take a long time to render, she should create an image closer to (but larger than 20MP), otherwise if she can go bigger, create one that's closer to (but less than 30MP).

All right, thank you, pseudonymous. One question though, why closer to 30MP and not 20+MP (like 22MP or so?) On which particular agencies that is beneficial?

thank you!

Hi,

my girflriend just joined six agencies: SS, FT, DT, 123RF, BS and CS. Like me, she's doing 3D renders and she wants to know, basically, how large she should make her images to cover all bases on all agencies without going over the top. Myself, as IS exclusive, I always render out at 4700x4700 pixels (square) and adjust accordingly for landscape and portrait orientations. So, my images always are XXXL size on IS. As I have no experience with the six agencies listed above, I wonder, could you share your experience, what largest pixel dimensions are needed for these agencies without going over the top?

I know that this information should be available somewhere in agencies' FAQs but some of them are really hard to navigate so your input would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ok, just to make things clear - currently i use payoneer card and, besides the fixed fee, i pay up to 3% above market exchangle rate each time i withdraw at ATM. So, are users of your local bank transfer service charged that extra 3%?

If not, it would make sense to stop using the card and start using local bank transfer, even if the fixed 'per transaction' fee is a bit higher.

Hi, Talia,

regarding local bank transfer - http://www.payoneer.com/LocalBankTransfer.aspx

I know the charges are $5.95 or $9.95 per transfer, are the any other charges?
What currency conversion rate is applied - official mastercard (or any other) one or do you charge several percent on top of that?

Thanks

Hi,

long time IS exclusive here. My girl wants to get her feet wet in microstock and she'd like to create FT account. I remember from my independent days that it used to make more sense to register on Fotolia EU than Fotolia US because credit prices in EUR were higher. Is that still true today? Should she choose Fotolia US because all other agencies pay in USD or is there a financial incentive to go with Fotolia EU?

If that matters, we live in EU but do not use EUR in this particular country, so no matter what currency we are paid in, it must be converted to local currency one way or the other.

Thanks
