Canva / Re: Is Canva partnered with other agencies?
« on: January 18, 2020, 09:48 »
I believe there is an agreement with iStock/Getty

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I figured that may be the case as I get a lot of partner sales through iStock.

Canva / Is Canva partnered with other agencies?
« on: January 18, 2020, 00:07 »
As the subject asks...

I just found some of my photos on Canva, but I never signed up for their site. It also lists my name on their site. I'm curious as to how they got my photos and how I am (if I am) getting paid for sales of my photos on their site.

Thank you!

123RF / Re: Completely Broken
« on: May 23, 2015, 17:14 »
Well, the 10 I uploaded today are now showing up, but the other 40 I had in queue still needing data are not.

Also nothing shows up under the "accepted or rejected" tabs at all, even though there are photos in my portfolio. /facepalm.

This is what my page looks like:

Just uploaded 10 new files via FTP, went onto the site to submit them and they are not there. What is worse, under every portion "ALL - ACCEPTED - REJECTED - INCOMPLETE" nothing shows up at all.

Yet on my "upload history page" it shows 198 uploaded (not counting the 10 from today), 155 accepted, 40 pending and 3 rejected"  :o

Just checked again, 2am EST, and I can now access the site... though now I am off to bed. =/

Thanks for the reply!

Looks like I will move on to other things for the evening and check back later.

123RF / Is the site down?

I was uploading last night and again earlier today, but atm I can't connect to the site.

I'm getting a long delay in attempting to connect and then

"This webpage is not available
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT"

Thank you all for the replies, I appreciate you taking the time to help. CD123 and Ponke are correct, the reasons were shown to the right. The odd thing is, I looked there before posting here and there was nothing listed above the delete photo check box. They are there now though, so in the future I will just be a little more patient.

One is listed as "Dimension Below Requirements", so I need to see what is going on with that image... it's the photo I mentioned in my original post, my top selling photo at other sites, it was taken with a 10mp camera and sells as large file elsewhere. Even looking at the listed dimensions of it on the rejected page, it lists larger than most of the accepted photos.

Other than the issue I posted yesterday about having half of my FTP uploaded files not show up on the site, another issue I have noticed - no e-mails regarding inspected files. I have had 65 photos accepted and 3 rejected, but the only reason I know is because I logged in  to the site to check to see if they had been reviewed.

There is no explanation on the site why the three were rejected and since I didn't receive an e-mail explaining why, I can only assume... and that in itself confuses me, since two of the rejected files are decent sellers elsewhere, one of them has sold over 65 times.

I have also had a few photos rejected by the system (both FTP and site upload) for being too small a file size... again an issue that baffles me. The files are from a 10mp camera and sell as a large file on other sites.

Is there something I am missing or since I don't have much invested here yet, should I not waste my time?

Thanks for any insight more experienced folks with this site can give me!

123RF / FTP uploads not appearing
« on: April 14, 2013, 13:50 »
I know this has been discussed in the past, I'm curious if its an issue for anyone else at the moment?

I just uploaded approx. 175 photos through FTP, but only 65 of them have shown up on the site for adding data to.

Can you select the range you want the stats from under 'My Statistics' and click the Export CSV file to export the data into a spreadsheet?

Alamy offered it for a while but since I switched to direct deposit I must say it is a very convenient way to get paid.

I can see that many people still like funds coming into Paypal because they also use the money straight from there for online purchases.

However I was wondering why the micros in general don't offer direct deposit, especially for countries where there is no Paypal. Also the agencies have to pay the fees for Masspay (I assume).

Anyone?

I have Direct Deposit from iStock through Payoneer. Unfortunately I think it is currently only available in the US. I would like to see them make it available to other countries as well, but my guess it has something to do with the different currencies and conversion fees.

PicNiche Toolbar / Re: Is PicNiche still working !?
« on: August 26, 2010, 08:13 »
Bob,

Thanks as always for the reply and the great add-on. I don't blame you for waiting, with all the changes going on, you would end up spending all your time making updates to it.

Now, do you think you could come up with a nice little app to push updates to my Blackberry whenever I get a sale. ;) In hindsight, I wish I would have bought a andriod phone over this BB.

iStock was reporting fine since updating to 1.1.13 for the F5 rollout, but this week it quit working again. My picNiche bar amount is stuck at the account balance I had last week.

This is on both my work and home computers, so my guess is it is a change in iStock's code more so than the picNiche bar.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Account is under investigation
« on: August 26, 2010, 07:26 »
I'm not saying that either is correct or wrong. I'm just adding in the info of what I've  read on recent rejections, along with the seemingly lack of communications with the contributor by IS. I think I would be a lot less reasonable than who posted this if this happened to me.

Yeah, I've read some of these horror stories too, but I've also been treated fairly in my dealings with IS. So, it makes it hard to know whether these stories are entirely accurate. I can't speak to this particular contributor, but it's definitely a scary thought if they really did nothing wrong.

I am with cthoman on this one. I have been on iStock since Aug. 2007, but just got serious with my portfolio last summer and made exclusive a few months ago. I have had to contact support a ton of times over the years and have only ever been treated fairly. They aren't always as prompt as I would like, but with the number of people on the site it could be worse too and I do always get a response.

As for the accusations, I too would love to hear both sides of the story (which I am sure will never happen) before judging. I was curious why the OP hasn't returned with his images/illustrations. I just checked his profile and he hasn't been on since the 24th, which is the same day Microbius posted asking if he would post them.

General - Top Sites / Re: iStock Model Releases
« on: August 26, 2010, 06:26 »
I understand your frustrations, I went through a couple issues in regards to a model releases in the past. In their defense, after we resolved the issue (using customer service), it was my fault and I corrected the problem. Now I am exclusive, so I just use their form and it makes things much easier.

As the others have posted, we can speculate what the issue is all day long, but your best course of action is using customer service. Yes, it may take a couple of extra days, but in the long run it will save you a lot of headache.

It could be a new inspector who doesn't feel your release has all the criteria needed or some change in policy passed down to inspectors, for instance does your release have all the legal jargon on it to cover you and iStock from liability?

Good luck and I hope you get this resolved quickly,
Joe

Photo Critique / Re: IStock application
« on: August 17, 2010, 12:18 »
Warren,

Base Level contributors can upload 18 images during a 1 week period.

Is this IStock you are referring to and if so, have they recently changed something? It was always 15 uploads per week for base level/non-exclusives. I don't recall reading a change, though it wouldn't have effected me now any way.

Eireann ...

Yes, I'm definitely going to hold off... I thank you for your advice.  And no, I never did submit the aloe vera one.  Maybe I will use that for my isolation.

Oh, and I found the official wait times for reapplying, I guess if I get rejected this time it will be 90 days.. then 180.. then 1 year !  I'm gonna post below for anyone wanting the info:

attempt 1:  3
attempt 2:  7
attempt 3:  14
attempt 4:  30      ---- ( I am here)
attempt 5:  90         3 months
attempt 6:  180       6 months
attempt 7:  365       1 very long year

Good luck the 808state. Just keep in mind, it could have been worse in the beginning. It could be like Shutterstock where every time you are not accepted it is a 30 day wait to try again.

The best advice I can give is what I used, read the critique forum as much as possible and bounce ideas and your images off the folks in that forum. There are some very helpful people in there.

I have been pushing hard, only uploading at iStock and planned on going exclusive when I hit 250 DLs, but now I am not sure. I used to upload to a couple other agencies, but deactivated everything there long ago to concentrate on iStock.

With the proposed changes there, some input from friends, I am starting to reconsider going the independent route and uploading to other agencies.

I am still relatively new with just hitting 100 uploads and 64 downloads, but I just recently added a few lightboxes and links to the lightboxes withing my photos.

I am curious to see if it helps or not. Only time will tell.

I am glad to hear it's not just me then regarding SS!

I just found this web site and I am glad I did, there are a lot of great folks here with good advice. I was only submitting to IS, which I just started using at the end of last year, but based on info from people here I joined several of the others.

I submitted my initial ten images to SS this weekend and yesterday the first 4 were rejected, which means no submitting for thirty days now! Oddly enough, the four images that were rejected by SS are my best selling images at IS.

Any way, thanks to the great group of folks here. Like I said, glad I found this site.

Joe
