Thank you very much. I will try it for sure. I am used to stocksubmitter but with escalating prices of that software I am looking at other options.....

That is why I moved to ImStocker. They have the best pricing model out of all of the available tools.

StockSubmitter supports more marketplace auto-submission functionality, but I don't mind doing the final on-site submission process myself. It's mainly the multi-marketplace upload functionality I need, the final submission process doesn't take nearly as much time.

Did you have to opt-in, or was this automatic?

I wish more of the marketplaces would do this. I know that they aren't marketed as file storage services, but storage has become so cheap and the contributors sure appreciate it.

Glad I'm not the only one who sees Wirestock is a negative light. The main thing is that the 15% cut of the contributors sales is not worth it when you have tools like Xpiks and StockSubmitter that don't take a percentage of your sales. Then I have other issues with Wirestock, like how contributor content is not being held under their own marketplace accounts, but under Wirestock's accounts instead. I think Wirestock is bad for the contributor and the industry as a whole. With Wirestock's new announcement about charging a flat fee for submissions on top of the 15% sales cut, I predict they are going the way of Netflix by angering their custom base and causing many to leave.

Shutterstock.com / Re: ShutterStock Forums no longer active
« on: February 21, 2023, 09:22 »
But it is a forum with many longtime users who have a lot of experience, this is true.

This place is a treasure trove of historical microstock information. After reading some of these really old posts, I can see how much the business has changed over the years. Gives a good idea of how competitive it has become, and also how the marketplaces have dramatically driven down the prices :/

Adobe Stock / Re: Review time

It usually only takes a day or two for me. Maybe it's because you submitted a large set of images and its taking them longer to process?

Tear Sheet - Microstock Wiki

This link is dead  :-\

Yes and this thread was dead back in 2015 ~ are you just spamming the forum to draw traffic to your blog?

If so stop it its annoying

Nah mate, I was curious about what a tear sheet is. Also, I'm trying to help out the forum when I see dead internal links. It isn't my intention to spam, I'm trying to contribute to the conversation. If posting on old threads is against the rules here, I will stop. I see plenty of other members with their personal websites in their signatures, I didn't think it was an issue.

General Photography Discussion / Re: other photography forums?

There are a few photography subs on Reddit that I follow.

You can use Feedly to follow a bunch of different photography sites from one interface, I find that very useful.

guest posting with other photographers, maybe we can exchange posts/links depending on your niche?

directory sites like blogarama

forums like microstockgroup

social sites like fb, ig, minds, mastodon, twitter, tumblr, etc.

portfolio sites like behance, flickr, etc

microstock marketplace contributor profiles on adobe stock, shutter stock, etc.

and the most important thing to remember is to make good content on your website and people will naturally link to it

That's pretty cool, I bookmarked it. The website design looks good. I will give it a try on my next batch of uploads.

Never heard of this one, although I am familiar with Minds. I think everything that has happened in the crypto world has dramatically changed the publics opinion on it.

Software / Re: After effects VS Davinci resolve - fusion

Coming from a lifelong Adobe software users, Davinci Resolve is better. Never thought I would switch away from Adobe, but I like Davinci more. It just feels nicer to navigate, and looks better too.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Selling Book Covers Blog Post
« on: February 19, 2023, 16:33 »
Interesting. Selling book cover art is something I never really considered. I could see this going hand-in-hand with the self-published Amazon/Kindle book people, that could be a target audience to market towards.

Selling Stock Direct / Re: Selling at Own Website
« on: February 19, 2023, 16:22 »
It would be extremely hard to sell stock from your own website. You are competing against massive corporations like AdobeStock and ShutterStock. They have large teams of content writers, social media teams, huge advertising budgets, massive portfolios, dirt cheap consumer pricing, etc.

You would be better off going in the artistic print direction if you wanted to sell from your own site. Using a print-on-demand service to dropship niche art prints of your work. While simultaneously displaying your work at local art shows or small businesses.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Shooting stock in Airshows

You could try selling it as editorial, without a release form. I would consider an airshow to be good editorial content.
