I have had no response from 500px, going on 2 weeks now. Nor from Alex. Very hard to gain traction with 500prime.
It was about the missing option to go back to non exclusive, there is no way to do that.

any news on the exclusive/non exclusive management?

From Exclusive -> Non-Exclusive, this makes sense. We just prevented the checkbox for going the other way around since it didn't make sense based on our definition of Exclusivity and needed to have some communication with the contributor beforehand. I'll see if we can put some logic in the form to allow you to do this. Great suggestion.
The idea that an image is just available through 500px is absolutely fine, but there should be a way of doing it that doesn't look like Prime is kidnapping the picture for good, at this time the only way to opt out of exclusivity is disabling licensing.

this is one of the problems with prime, no one knows what is selling or what the trends are, no stats, nothing

They should include an option for this, it's impossible to not be able to manage our own images, if I knew before I would have had second thoughts about it

Has anyone found a way to disable exclusivity once the picture is available for licensing? I was reconsidering some shots but I just don't understand how to do it, seems impossible

I am fed up with their reviewers bs, what I have online is about 20% of what I've ever submitted, I work with a tripod, very often with artificial light at high speeds, I take my good time processing, I view my images at 100% on a 24" HD Dell Ultrasharp screen calibrated every week with an X-rite device (and would really like to know what gear is on the other side...) in a controlled environment and get all sort of odd reasons about noise, focus, lights, you name it. Reviewers get in a megalomaniac omnipotence syndrome, frankly stopping submissions and looking for other markets is making me feel much better, ms just kills creativity. My 2 cents

As I said in the other thread, review time seems to take forever, I don't know what your experiences about this issue are but it just doesn't sound good to me
Processing time is currently 2-3 weeks. We're working to get that down to 1 week, but have been overwhelmed with the number of submissions from our community. Don't worry though, once a photo is submitted, it's immediately available on 500px Prime, as well as for licensing via the License buttons on the photo's page on 500px. If we receive a request to license that photo before it has been processed, it will be fast tracked so we can close the sale that day. Thanks!
Thank you for clarifing this out

I can't see how you can get any sells if their review time from submissions takes forever... Any experience on this? I forgot when I submitted about 50 pics to try...

I own the 17-50, it was purchased to replace my Pentax Da 17-70 wich had an unreliable Sdm motore, wile I am still pretty sure the Da was a better lens I have to admit the Tamron is pretty Good, I miss a little more reach but the bigger brother while a highly regarded lens, on a cropped sensor will just be too long for me, rangig in medium telephoto lenghts without any wide angle. Last thing to consider is that on my camera it's not really a 2.8 since it underexposes of about 1-1.5 stops. Colors are good, no strange things.

I am a k5 shooter, problem with pentax isn't Iq it's the system that lacks a lot of stuff, starting from a decent flash system, sdm motors have had failures and are slow, new products take forever to be launched and so on...

T: Hand of four asses D: A winning hand of four asses during a game
Ahahaha, sorry about that, I guess since it's actually word it wasn't raised as a possible typo with the captioner by the UI I notice you've fixed it to 'aces' already when I went in to fix it, and I've also refunded (with a little extra) for the heads up.
Will raise with the captioner on Monday to be a bit more careful in future, thanks!
Always so kind man, thank you! Of course I just posted this because I thought it was hilarious, not to discredit your service which you know I've been using for a while on regular basis, don' be to hard on the captioner, it happens, I'll still continue to reccomend picworkflow.

Did you also get the keyword "four of a hind"? It's important to get the variants in there.
I'm waiting for the keywording process to end so I can discover it's hidden marvels, it's incredible how a poker hand can lead you to hot b-sides and war copters and God knows what else... Trying to get the hidden connection between the things, there must be one

Yes this is the captioning I got for 30c: T: Hand of four asses D: A winning hand of four asses during a game starting to have 2nd thoughts on their captioning/keywording efficiency, since they seem to be hiring drunk people... or exploring new frontiers in search rankings...

I'd also like a good answer to this one, I shift through little motivation moments and huge drained ones where I just feel like quitting photography and all the rest of it. Keeping your mental sanity sometimes is hard, we grasp to keep faith in better times, if we lose hope we've lost everything, maybe it's just our survival instinct

Received an e-mail frome them 5 minutes ago, Uploading a few pictures to see what the upload process is like, if it's not fast and smooth they can stay where they are, I found their name in the low earners so...

istock, they just make you waste a whole lot of time with their stupid upload limit, disambiguation, never ending review time and stupid rejections (even for keywords).

My experience has been that, almost without exception, photos that get rejected on one site generate sales on another. It's routine for me, and if there's any sort of discernible pattern, I certainly don't see it. There seems to be a lot of subjectivity involved.
