The thing that gives me the shivvers is the 12-month totals for qualifying for subscription payment levels. If they do the RC-like system there, is it going to spread to the mother ship?
Now I am wondering if it's worth to upload new stuff. $0.25 with 12-month count would undermined the purpose. Unless they agree to forgo the 12-month count or give us option to opt out of subscription for individual images or the whole collection I rather stop uploading my new images.

Must be a search engine change. My sales there have dropped like a rock this month.
Seriously, they are back to sales levels from two years or more ago for me (when my portfolio was half the current size).
For me on SS is all the same, but on BigStock everything just stopped. Today is the 15th of the month, and I have zero images sold so far.

I use it as a backup storage if my computer and external drive die at the same time. And don't ask me what's the odds, I jut had to recover some images last week.

I am very impressed; this was a right thing to do. I thought they may fix this subscription problem; but to reimburse everyone was something not expected from any agency. Many thanks Stockxpert team, you were quick to fix the problem and quick to credit the money. This is a good business practice that gained my respect.

I wonder if anyone who is opted-out will get a US$50 PPD Photo.com sale "by accident"? I just want to be reimbursed for those 2 XL images they sold for $0.30 each. After all, I didn't strew up on my end.

I also got a reply "I apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing with our site. We are looking into the issue and it should be resolved soon."
I too have never opted into subscriptions and my account remains unchanged.

The fact that you guys are having subscripton sales is just mind boggling. Your Intellectual Property has been devalued by being offered as subscription.
Exactly! Despite being opted out of Subscriptions or Partner Licensing today I got 2 subscription sales too, I am considering closing my account. This is way too disturbing, makes me thing what else is done to my images without my knowledge.

StockXpert comes in 4th on my earning list...
StockXpert on my list is earner #7, which means it doesn't even make into my Big 6. I was never opted in suscriptions; didn't like the way it was originally handled. I was about to opt in; but looks like it doesn't make much difference...

... 100$ per 500 approvals sounds nice... That would be $0.20 per image. This is less tan $0.25 subscription. I am not sure the one time $0.20 would even cover upload and keywording hassle. "All pictures sent for approval must be keyworded by the contributor. Pictures uploaded as part of this promotion are not eligible for free keywording.""

If I am right, those images offered by NASA to public are all significantly smaller in size.
I see images offered for sale by some artists that larger than you could find on the web, which indicates that they were taken from NASAs internal servers. I used to work at one of its facilities, and as a designer had access to those images; as far as I know theyre all NASAs property.
Also, it is one thing to charge for prints of NASAs free images, and a totally different story when images sold as digital files. BTW, nothing against artists who use NASAs images as pat of their composition, my complaint is about stolen images and sale of digital files.

One more proof about that they pick best quality images from batch and pay for sales just 25 cents... That is MICRO-MACRO phillosophy and that is what I didn't liked there... But, there are many other agencies who are glad to accept my or your images... So, pass Crestock and move to better earners!
You nail it on the head.

Wow, amazing. Made me think about building my own pinhole camera, maybe a little smaller, size of a paper shopping bag. Many thanks, Leaf

Does anyone know if this site has an agreement with FT? I was always wondering how to find the official list of sites that agencies do business with. Somehow it always is a mystery and I find it accidentally. But i personally don't think they will sell many pictures and also stockphotography is not supposed to be art photography. To me it doesn't matter, if I have no agreement with them they have no right to sell my images. I don't have very artsy images on microstock; but I don't like to be blindsided with print of my toilet paper roll.

The best way to drive buyers to the site is through advertising in design magazines. All the successful sites do this and those that have failed tried other ways that didn't work. I have to agree, free images wold only attract people who is looking for free stuff. Per my experience, serious byers don't look for free stuff; but look for image they need. And when they find that image, they pay. MostPhotos need to advertise to byers; advertising and design magazines is way to go.

Ok, one more time. I am kind of hoping to see better numbers with DT.
Thank you Leaf.
Update: I must be doing something wrong. Both "imagezebra" and "imagezebra_info" are not working for DT.

It will be hard to market a site that allows derogatory/racial slurs and foul language on its most popular searches page. At first it was in Cyrillic, now it is in English. About a moth ago I addressed the issue via email to management; but no actions were taken.
I stopped uploading, and now am I am thinking about deleting my portfolio.

I opted out and then coincidentally had my best day in the past 3 months Photoshow, this is good news; I was kind of concerned that all the customers suddenly moved into subscriptions, LOL 0.30 cents will not save us, standing strong will.. Ironarrow, I totally agree; it would just devaluate my images on other sites. On part of J.I. this was not well thought through decision, I was very close to delete my few weeks old port. It is a shame, because StockXpert was one of my favourites.. I loved it a lot.. But what is the point in loving them if they don't love me back?! OMG, I see your point. Fortunately youre not married to them. LOL At this point I am really looking forward to see the wounds heal and trust being restored, nothing personal just business when each side stood for its own interests. Market will sort everything out, fair compensation for quality work benefits everyone, the artists (photographers), the customers (buyers), and as a result, the agency (StockXpert and J.I.). Now I better go back to shoot.
