Thanks for the information.  I know that you need a lot of varied stuff to be able to hit a number of different segments (am currently shooting some Christmas decorations with a little success on Fotolia and Bigstock).

However, I work full time doing something else and have a child, so my time is limited and I get as much uploaded as I can when I can.

I do have a couple of IS, I've not been accepted on SS (they reject ones that they've approved in previous months - very frustrating).  I will continue to do so.

I just think that things that sell well on Fotolia seem to be a lot of magazine type stuff, gardening, people doing things, etc.  Bigstock seem to like bigger, brighter more contrived images.  I just haven't really worked out what it is worth me trying with on Dreamstime.  I just wondered if anyone could categorize their "thing".

Thanks for replying though.  I appreciate it.

Hi

I have a 130ish on Bigstock, 30 on Fotolia and about 20 on Dreamstime.

It feels like they have distinct personalities and profiles created presumably through their client's purchasing decisions or the markets they themselves aim for.

I can kind of see what is going to be popular on Bigstock and on Fotolia, but I have less of a handle on what it is that is Dreamstime's niche.

Hi

I'm an amateur who has been in love with photography for nearly 20 years.  I finally went DSLR this year with a Canon 450D and had read about micro-stock so decided to try it out.

I've had a little success on Fotolia and get stuff accepted on a reasonably high acceptance rate at both Dreamstime and BigStockPhoto.  I have sold a few on Fotolia and a couple on BigStock, however, I've not really cracked what it is that Dreamstime is after.

Any ideas?
