New Sites - General / Re: Art Film Stock
« on: September 02, 2011, 09:36 »
I'm in. I have, for many years now, seen the more or less constant reduction in royalties from most of the microstock agencies. The upload process at artfilmstock has been simplified and the owner seems to be listening, and acting upon, contributor recommendations. Just because this agency is new is hardly reason for me to put them aside - at one time, albeit a very very long time ago, I took my first photograph, I was new.

I have no direct control over this ventures success but I will at least support them as well as I can - and, even though it will obviously take quite some time, a single $300.00 sale (and even 50% of it) will beat most of the 'low tier' agencies that currently have my images.

Image exclusivity is acceptable to justify the price for the buyer - all my images that are LCV because I took too much 'artisric liberty' in their creation for RF will now find a home - at least I hope   :)

If you are using mpeg streamclip, there is a dropdown menu to not include audio file or to change frequency - it's on the primary page after you load file.

DT is interesting to say the least - their search engine 1st indexes on the 'title' then 2nd on the 'description' and 3rd on the 'keywords.'

So, if your title is "blond girls isolated over white" - this image will come up highest in the rankings if the customer searched on the exact same phrase - lower in the rankings is it was in the description and not the title, and lower yet if only in the keywords

@Morphart,

All of my images are at Alamy as RM and are submitted to Alamy exclusively - I have tons of other stuff at RF micros - all of my sales have been to books or magazines around the world.

I've not had to wait more than a few hours for approval and Canstock's sales have been improving considerably for me in the last six months so I would not hesitate to get more images to them; they also take video now as well.

ya me too

Perhaps it is $250.00 - all my checks have been over $300.00 so I may not have noticed. I just keep working and keep my head down :-)

@Morphart:

I have sold several illustrations in the $250 range in the last year, quite a few in the $75.00 range but my catalog there is still quite small compared to my photography at other sites - I think it's worth the effort but I believe it will take a catalog of at least 1,000 images to achieve regular monthly payouts (their minimum payout amount is $300.00).

Best regards,

Paul
