Dissolve / Re: Dissolve price update
« on: August 15, 2015, 01:52 »
So- prices in my portfolio will be reduced as well.
Got a notification yesterday.

My answer was:
Thank You for heads up.
A question: does my royalty rate will still be 20%? I know that for other contributors it's around 30 or even 35%.
I think it's less time consuming to keep the prices of my port on 49 and not to start providing lists from files I have on sale elsewhere and track the prices on other sites which is not really my idea of contributor duties in microstock business. However the price cut does feel like a punishment. Therefore I am afraid to upload my  remaining part of portfolio of 3d animations as dissolve seems to make price cuts too freely (why not to reduce price down then to 10 dollars?)

Best;
Taavet

I got the mail from Dissolve, too. So probably i just stop uploading there until the price "matching" issue is solved. Will ton going to share my animations there if the price is slashed for some shady reasons.

Hi Terry,
i do like Your site. I don't think that You are revealing personal "secrets" as there is only one:"shoot, upload, repeat".
I do mostly 3d animations exclusively in istock and so far i am quite happy.

I will.
I'll let you know the answer.

Good luck with sales :)
I love MikLav's yoghurt clip. The boy is really cute!

I am exclusive videographer in istock and i plan to make showreel and upload it to vimeo. So-if i upload any of my clips to vimeo, i am immediately violating my exclusivity contract with istock?

Yes. Be grateful to Leaf for warning about this.

Yep, it thanks for warning.
And big watermark wont help, too?

Hi everyone!
Right now i am exclusive in istock but i  have been playing around with the idea of canceling exclusivity and start submitting footages to other agencies as well. I am afraid that after latest price-increase in video side the buyers have started to leave to other agencies and it definitely affects sales. So i have to make some research before i make any decisions.

My question is-which agencies are worthy for submitting footages?
I'd definitely go on with shutterstock and pond5 as i was submitting my stuff there before i went exclusive in IS.
So how about stockxpert, interclips and motiondroops?
How is life  in shutterstock and pond5? Are the contributors happy?
All feedbacks are appreciated!
Best,
Taavet

Yikes!

So if i want to expose my showreel where i should upload it without violating my exclusivity contract?
I guess i have to add BIG nasty watermark on the clip aswell.

i have 200 clips online in istock. Those are mostly animations and i have worked on this collection about 1,5 years. About sales i am quite optimistic - december was BME with 90 sales. January was quite close too.

Definitely worth of trying!
