Things are definitely working at Canstock.  I got a couple of FS $19.80 sales yesterday, but am still getting CS sales as well.  The sales yesterday were not previously "best-sellers" by a long shot.  It will be exciting to see what happens when the roll-out is complete.

You do have the choice to accept or delete the suggested keywords as well.  In my experience, the suggested keywords are often good additions, or spark some other ideas.

Keep after it.  Sales at Canstock are taking off and the complete roll-out with Fotosearch is not even completed yet.  Just yesterday I was pleased to receive two of the $19.80 commissions within a couple of hours of each other.   I think this is going to be fun ;D

Just curious.... as of today, how many of your sales have been taken away by the "not downloaded yet" situation?

I can't seem to log on to the Featurepics forum, but I am having the same issue.  There does not seem to be a response to inquiries at this time.

Mark, found one of your images here:

I think you just may have set up your referral link incorrectly.

Congratulations on your success with SS.

I logged in a couple of days ago.  But now I get "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)".  Hmmmm.....

Regards,
Adelaide

I just got the same message when I tried to log in.  Seems like it worked a couple of days ago....

I, for one, would be very interested in how you did this.....

I've had that problem several times.  I just leave the site, come back in and try again.  Usually it works on the second try.  The keywords haven't really vanished.  They just don't transfer over for some reason.  (This doesn't happen frequently by the way)

My best month ever in numbers of sales and close to that in amount - even with no EL's to boost the dollar amount.

I'm having the same problems today.  Sometimes the pages work.  Sometimes I just get a blank white page.

Adobe Stock / Re: Can you reorder Fotolia keywords?
« on: September 12, 2007, 08:02 »
This was the response I received on July 29 when I asked a similar question about why my images were not showing up when I searched on keywords still visible in the information:

"Answers:
Fotolia :    We apologize for the inconvenience. Our search engine currently displays as a "search result" only the first 7 keywords associated to the image. Try searching your image by entering the first 7 keywords you entered that are associated with that image.
Soon this will be fixed and all keywords that are associated with the image will come up as a search result.
   07-30-2007 08:16 pm"

However, that has not yet happened.   :o

In addition, I have consistently searched using one of those "top seven" keywords, and had differing numbers of images show up in the searches (from 0 - 130), but NONE of my images with those same keywords at the top.  Whatever "fixes" they are accomplishing must be happening on a random basis - or in Europe first.  I should add the keyword problems relate to images uploaded before the upgrade.  Newer images - so far - (knock on wood) - are showing up in searches.

I use Firefox and have not had any problems (from U.S.).  (and earnings there have been steadily increasing for me)

No, I wasn't exclusive.  (I think that was before exclusivity was even offered).  It was back in 2004 and I had just started.  I had been accepted by them and I had also joined a couple of (then) new sites.  I had not even uploaded any photos to them or participated in any forums or really anything when I got this whole slew of e-mails saying my account was closed and I was banned because I was reviewing for another site and apparently that was a horribly bad thing.  It was the first (and only :-[) time I've ever been banned from anything in my whole life.  I still don't recall seeing anything that said I shouldn't review for another site when I originally joined.  I know they've had a change in ownership since then, but they had made it pretty clear that I was unwelcome and that reviewing for another site was an egregious act.

Well, would love to play - but I can't.  I was banned from Istock several years ago because I reviewed photos for another site after I was accepted by them.  They were quite rude about it - 9 e-mails saying I was banned from everything from viewing their site to breathing the same air (or some such).  I had never even uploaded an image.  So I don't play.

I think they must still be working on ironing out the bugs.  It's sad.  I used to like FT a lot, but with all the problems, including the ridiculous rejections they've been handing out recently, coupled with the complete lack of communication, as well as the apparent lack of caring whether or not they succeed,  I think they are no longer worth the effort.  Too bad.

It would be interesting to see if there are differences among photographer's locations.  For example, I am in the US, and not only have sales slammed to a halt after V2, but so have views.   For awhile, none of the keywords were giving results when searched - now sometimes there are results which inlcude my images and sometimes there are results, but not including any of my images with that keyword in the top 7, and sometimes there are no results at all.  I have contacted Fotolia support with specific examples, and those do get fixed; however, I fear I have perhaps made too many contacts (3) as now my acceptance rate has fallen to about 20% (although the same images have been accepted on 8 other sites)  I think I'll let my current portfolio ride, but will not upload to them again until I see positive changes for photographers in this location.  It seems most of the people who were talking about increases in their sales were from the UK, Europe, and Australia - not the US.

« on: August 07, 2007, 08:20 »
I had that issue as well.  When I contacted support, they indicated that only the top seven keywords are being read at this time.  The message indicated that all keywords would be read in the future; however, I am still having difficulties with ANY keywords being read on some of my images.

To be fair, when I pointed out specific examples to support, those specific keywords were fixed within a few days.

Since V2 I can't upload via FTP so I'm using their Flash uploader.

Another crappy thing is that you can't modify keywords on accepted images. That sucks big time.  >:(

I agree - especially since some images still do NOT have keywords since the switch.  Guess we need to delete those and start over.

I've tried a number of searches and get some results from some but not all.  However, photos from my portfolio which are tagged with those keywords are not showing up in the searches at all.  For example, "graduation" produces some results (but excludes a number of my images with that keyword).  "Graduate" and "commencement" produce 0 results.  "Cactus" produces some results (again excluding my images with that keyword), but "saguaro" produces 0 results - even though there are a number of images within cactus which use saguaro as a keyword.  I'm guessing/hoping they are still working on the search function.

my add-on -- images just accepted at Stockxpert but NOT at SS -- a 180 degree change -- what's happening to the world I knew  ???  ;)

I keep hearing that SS has been accepting a lot fewer images than before - but sales have remained pretty steady.  Guess we just keep trying to figure it out and keep uploading.  Good luck!!!!

Part of the discussion at CanStockPhoto involved descriptions as well as keywords.  It was clearly indicated that the search engine takes into account words used in the description as well - which will be the place to include phrases and words that you might not want to include in the keywords.  I'm naturally wordy as well, so this will involve a bit of a shift for me.  The keyword helper will still assist in suggesting words that might be more relevant than the ones I've thought of.

I think Canstock's search engine may also have suggestions for other similar search terms when a search is accomplished - which could be helpful to the buyer.
