Why is my second comment minussed? Was it that bad?

I don't know why, but it is easy to click accidentally...

Yet, but what about the delivery of the images- I need to ask for an e-mail in order to send the images(and the e-mails filled are kept within the customer's database)

And also, it is good to have an history of purchases, who purchased what (it is also beneficial for keeping the terms of use between me and the customers), statistic etc', but my concern is how to achieve this with 0% risks, thus look for a creative solution.

If possible, please elaborate as to how to achieve this with paypal only? (as far as I know, I will not able to get customer's details, only general statistics)

Yes, what you want is possible.

I am in the process of redesigning my own website, and I have integrated Paypal in a similar manner.
The site operates without database at all.

All orders are sent to Paypal Digital Goods interface (https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/digital-goods. After completion of the order Paypal calls back my site and gives me all information about the customer (no credit cards, obviously). You just take the email address and sent the download links to the customer, and you can use all other customer data to collect your statistics.

I am out, too.

And I asked for a confirmation, because in the past some of my emails went unnoticed...!

If you open the eps file with a script you can specify the desired size in the EPSOpenOptions.

If you understand german you can join this german forum:

They have many discussions about the german stock agencies.

If you want to avoid this in the future, you can reload the .eps file into Illy and use my ExtendedSelect script to check for any embedded bitmap image:

Veer / Re: Veer really weird rejection note...
« on: March 21, 2010, 13:05 »
I've been an advocate for closing open paths for years. I'm glad someone is finally bringing this heinous activity to the public's attention.

Perhaps a good opportunity to mention (again) that I am offering a FREE script for Illustrator CS4 that allows to close open paths, among other useful things:

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Using NASA resources - rejection problem
« on: February 12, 2010, 08:38 »
It seems to me that they just want the information they requested, and would then approve the image:

Please include the following information in your description of the file to have this file reconsidered:
- The source of the map you have used for reference (URL or a scan to verify ownership)
- The software you have used to create your file
- The date your file was created
- The layers of data used.

You have to make similar declarations if you upload maps to Shutterstock.

Dreamstime.com / Re: More than usual rejections from Dreamtime
« on: January 06, 2010, 10:04 »
in December I uploaded 3 high resolution relief maps of Austria, Azerbaijan and the Balearic Islands. All 3 were rejected because of "Too many photos/illustrations on the same subject or from the same series".

My impression is that some inspectors are checking thumbnails only. Relief maps of different countries may look quite similar from the thumbnail perspective. I have the same rejection experience with my pictures.

Perhaps... But the Balearic Islands have an ocean around them, and even from a thumbnail you could see that Austria has not   :D

Sharpshot, you may believe they weren't different, but editors check your portfolio for older files. Probably they found similars. Their tolerance to similarity depends on the subject. If it's sellable they are more tolerant.

Achilles, as an example for strange rejections: in December I uploaded 3 high resolution relief maps of Austria, Azerbaijan and the Balearic Islands. All 3 were rejected because of "Too many photos/illustrations on the same subject or from the same series".

If I search for 'austria relief map', 'azerbaijan relief map' or 'balearic relief map' there are NO images which are even remotely similar to mine, in effect you have no relief maps of these countries at all.

So, is a buyer who needs a relief map of Austria supposed to use one from Switzerland instead (which was previously approved and is in my portfolio)?

It seems to me that some reviewers don't quite understand what the sense of the 'too similar' rule is.

Does anyone have the current numbers for bronzes? Sorry for the mis-information.  >:(

The old tables are here:
http://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors

and the new tables are here:
http://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors/Nonexclusivity

15
XS: -13% $0.32 --> $0.28
S: +31% $0.64 --> $0.84
M: -12.5% $1.60 --> $1.40
L: +2% $1.92 --> $1.96
XL: 0% $2.24 --> $2.24

Are you sure your calculations are correct? E.g. for M and bronze level I find a CURRENT commision of 1.28 credits, and this will rise to 1.40.

For me things will probably be better, since I sell many larger sizes, and the maximum prices for these have all been increased substantially.

Veer / Re: are all your pics showing on Veer?
« on: August 21, 2009, 14:51 »
None of my pics is found by the search engine. It is - at least in my case - a known and confirmed bug. Support told me they would get back at me - that was 2 weeks ago.  ???

« on: August 19, 2009, 04:18 »
Anyways you don't have to be a contributor or buyer to contribute to the forum.  You do have to sign up to submit illustrations and take a "test' but you do not have to be accepted as an illustrator.

I did that, actually, but I still can't post. Don't know why - it seems silly, but that is how things are...

I have updated the script. You can now select all layers, groups, paths etc. with a blending mode other than 'normal'.

Just posted it :)

I saw the post, thanks! (I can read the forums, but not post there).

The text now reads as if you wrote the script, but I don't care, as long as it is useful to somebody  ;)

If you like the script you could do me a favor and post it on the iStock forums as well. I am not allowed to post there, because I am neither a buyer nor a contributor.

I have McAfee site advisor plugin for firefox and it went balistic when I went to your link.

Thanks for reporting this, although the report seems to be a bit ridiculous, because eusoftnet.com is just one of the many shareware providers which offer software for download. Anyway, I removed the banner with the link - it isn't worth any hassle. Thanks again.

Illustration - General / ExtendedSelect Illustrator script
« on: August 08, 2009, 13:35 »
Since the SelectMenu plugin from Graffix for selecting open paths in an Illustrator document is not available for Illustrator CS4 under Windows (only Mac), I decided to write my own script for extended selections.
It offers some more options than the Graffix plugin, including the possibility to immediately close the open paths.
Since it is a script and not a plugin it should run under future Illustrator versions as well.

The script is free.

You can find it on my site:

http://maps.aridocean.com/scripts_en.php

Please let me know all suggestions (or bugs you might find).
