Congrats on the sale and Funny Illustration!

Where did you find all the info on the sale? All I can find is the sales price and commission stuff....

just a thought... it could be the description or keywords that are getting it bounced, but wait a while before throwing it back up at them as it may be recognized right away and sent away just as fast.....

As for me, I know something is wrong when IS accepts what SS rejects......
And that is whats been happening here....
Thinking of making a SS summer rejects folder and resubbing when things get back to normal....

i made it clear in my reply to support.
i wanted to know what the rules were.....
plain and simple.

had i heard back from them before i posted this, this post wouldnt exist
:-)

i dont believe in putting all my cards on the table until i know what my opponent is holding
;-)

again thank you all for your thoughts

bye bye

thanks all, i got a great and timely response from istock.
yes, it is copyright infringement, here is whar they sent me :
"Thank you very much for your message.

Yes, this would be copyright infringement as the other artist owns the rights to their intellectual property.

Therefore; this would not be permitted.

All of your work will need to be 100% original creations made by you.

I apologize for any inconvenience this causes."

reporting them and just getting the images pulled just doesnt seem to be enough. this is a well seasoned photographer and knows better!

I was roaming thru istock this morning and noticed a shot I liked, zoomed in and saw that the background is one of my cityscape  images, altered, cloned, etc, but my image nonetheless, and in the foreground is the model....

Is this type of use permissible in stock? I didn't think it was and didn't want to post the images yet for if the photographer is breaking the law, I prefer to do much more than ask them to take them down...

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
S

I reported it as a copyright violation on the site and referred them to this thread.

Veer / Re: Veer Marketplace Opens for Submissions!
« on: June 09, 2009, 17:40 »
I am using safari and when I click the upload button, or whatever it is called a window opens and when i get inside the folder of pictures, I just select a bunch of them all at the same time.
I had a folder with all the ones that were supposed to go to SV sitting on the desktop and on a mc you can color code them, I did that for each group before uploading so I wouldnt lose track....

I couldn't get the FTP to work either but uploading through the browser was just as good as using cyberduck, there didn't seem to be a limit on how many to upload at a time. I was able to throw up 300 in no time... now I just have to wait until I have my quota refreshed.

As for keywords, I bet ALL former SV contributors will have keyword issues for the mere fact that SV was famous, at least early on, for changing our keywords and descriptions. I don't know if they continued it to the end, I stopped looking figuring that they knew what they were doing.....

Yes my keywords and descriptions are a mess too.

I use a macbook.
Aperture does almost everything possibly needed to prepare images, and does it fast so there is no need to go to any other programs.
I also run Parallels which allows me to use any, and I mean any PC program on the mac, while still in the mac OS.
I almost  have my girlfriend convinced that she needs a mac!!!!

I never liked PCs because they are too much work, at least in my opinion.
Windows bloats up and eats itself so there is constant maintenance involved.

With the mac you turn it on and everything works....

Used PC early on, switched to mac 10 years ago and never looked back.
Mac applications also give you more screen real estate when working as opposed to a PC program taking up a third or more of the screen.

Yes the investment is bigger but time is money. The faster and easier you can work the better your quality of life and the more pictures you can take

Another great feature for a microstocker with the mac is uploading multiple files to istock via Aperture or iphoto.
I tell you I do not miss the uploading one at a time over there....
Before they are uploaded you can go through the keywords and categorize, when you are ready, press one button and you are all done!

In case you didnt notice, this is a vote for the mac and parallels for when you need to work in pc land!

General Stock Discussion / Re: purple fringe
« on: August 02, 2008, 15:35 »
i did tests with my own lenses
With some, a large aperture makes the fringe, if I bring the aperture to 16 or 22 it is totally gone.
I would say experiment with the aperture before * with post shooting and very expensive lenses.
PS I have seen the purple fringe on high end lenses too.......

Hey All!
Thanks for trying!
I dont blame you for not wanting to upgrade the player.

fotografer...
I love that shot!
I have been a photographer since the 70's, she just started and keeps wowing me with the things she catches.....
We both feel it is too good to add to her microstock librarys, just havent figured out a good use for it yet. Maybe a nice art print with a unique caption.

Not Pimping, trying to win a weekend away with my Lady!

I let my pictures pimp themselves, but if I don't spread the word everywhere I can about the contest, I could lose out on providing my dear one a mini vacation compliments of Nikon and since most microstockers support each other, why not ask for some clicks?

Besides if I win a Nikon I can pretend I have a real camera.

Forget John and Barak, Vote For Me!
Hi All!

At my girlfriend's prompting, I entered the Nikon d60 Contest.

She entered some really nice shots, better than mine, but as luck would have it, she didn't make it into the finals.... But I did!

And I am asking for votes... I would love to win the camera, but would much rather win the weekend getaway, so I can get away with my Lady!

She is the one that should be the finalist!

Anyway, please vote for my bus image and if you remember, please go back and vote everyday!

If the link doesn't work right, the picture is on page 4, second row, second image.
The picture is of a young lady waiting for the bus in the Harvard Square bus depot.

Thanks to all and I will let you all know if we win!

Vote Early And Vote Often....

fotolia DOES take panoramas
fotolia is rejecting EVERYTHING
but who cares they are just one of many places to sell your work.
Bitch about the rejections, but NEVER take them personal

Do what you love, who cares if it sells!

Hi clearview!
Suzym is 2 bucks short of a payout herself.

She was trying to use her tokens to help out others but the system kept telling her she didnt have enough ....she has over 200 tokens!

All the best
