Veer / Re: Free 25 Veer Credits« on: July 24, 2010, 08:39 »
I didn't get them either. Probably because of this:
Quote Promotion is only valid in the United States and Canada, excluding Quebec (Territories). 4
Bigstock.com / Re: Problem submitting images to BS« on: July 21, 2010, 14:59 »
Many of us use Adobe Bridge(or other batch keywording software) which does not support adding IPTC/XMP data directly to the eps so we add it to the jpeg. EVERY other agency that takes vectors that I submit to(about 10) can extract the iptc from the jpeg. I have to copy paste the keywords manually when submitting to Bigstock and it's getting tiresome. 5

123RF / Re: 123RF is NUTS!!« on: July 16, 2010, 04:28 »In June 123RF rejected 19 out of 49 vectors I submitted there. All 19 of those were accepted by SS, DT, FT, et al. So I have stopped submitting at 123RF for the time being. Heh, funny. You've made me look into my history and it seems they rejected my last 2 vectors lol. Weird. I have a 90% acceptance ratio there, and I don't remember having a vector rejected before. What's a bit ugly is that they didn't even specify a rejection reason. 7
Selling Stock Direct / Re: New stock image selling site (AvidImages)« on: July 14, 2010, 12:19 »
Just out of curiosity is it related to Avid, the guys who make the (awesome) film editing software and also own Digidesign?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Raster accepted but Vector Rejected« on: July 12, 2010, 12:15 »
Well the rasters probably go to the photo reviewers and they pretty much accept anything(illustrations that is).

Dreamstime.com / Re: Planning on going exclusive at Dt« on: July 12, 2010, 08:39 »
Still, Exclusivity at IS at least offers substantial benefits and probably, for some contributors, higher earnings or at least comparable.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Planning on going exclusive at Dt« on: July 12, 2010, 05:34 »Can anyone please shed some light on this mystery? Id cut my earnings 20 times if I dropped the rest Same here. You gave me quite a shock when I read the title lol. Can't understand it either. Not to mention that, if I'm not mistaken, I recall that if you're exclusive with DT you can't even sell RM with other agencies. 12
Off Topic / Re: World Cup 2010« on: July 11, 2010, 16:07 »
Congrats Spain.
However for the sake of the beauty of this sport I hope that mister Webb goes back to being a cop or whatever he did before, because this was the worst referee I've ever seen in a World cup match, let alone in a final. 13
Off Topic / Re: Computer stress test« on: July 09, 2010, 09:34 »
You know you're stressed AND doing microstock if your first reaction to this test is "whoa, lots of artifacts".

Shutterstock.com / Re: July payment?« on: July 09, 2010, 09:32 »It is a day or two later than usual but nothing to be concerned about yet. If you read your payment notification it probably says the same as mine; It's weird. I didn't get the money yet either but I did get a mail. Maybe your mail ended up in the Junk folder or something? As for the balance, they usually take mine about one week before payment gets to paypal. 15
Illustration - General / Re: Noobish question Eps vector converting for micro sites (program)« on: July 09, 2010, 07:27 »
You mean the small, medium, etc? Yeah they do their own from the eps(or from the jpeg, depends on agency). Just be sure to make a big enough jpeg. Anything over 8Megapixels should be good I guess.

Illustration - General / Re: Noobish question Eps vector converting for micro sites (program)« on: July 08, 2010, 06:59 »
I use Illustrator and export the jpeg directly from it using File>Export. You can also go to Save for web and devices but I don't use that. I only export one large jpeg and every agency(that I submit to, most of the top and middle tier and a few others) takes it.
Some want the eps and the jpeg zipped together(afaik, Fotolia, DP and Cutcaster). 17

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Canon T2i/550D very popular« on: June 15, 2010, 12:24 »I used this site to keep an eye on it. Downsize the 18MP to 12MP and it will shine again. Not saying the 50mm 1.8(I've got one that I haven't used for ages) is spectacular but for 100$(sau cat mai e pe la noi) it does it's job well. And if the 50 1.8 will be crap, how will the 18-55 do lol. I recommended primes specifically because of the better resolution they have, because they'll be really stressed at 18MP APS-C. Also because of the larger aperture for video. Shooting video at 5.6 with the 18-55 won't look too good. 22
Cameras / Lenses / Re: Canon T2i/550D very popular« on: June 15, 2010, 01:43 »
I used this site to keep an eye on it.
http://www.nowinstock.net/digitalcameras/canon/rebel/ You might also want to get a prime, especially for video. The 50 1.8 is the cheapest(by far) but it's still good bang for your buck. 23
Newbie Discussion / Re: Swiss Knife used by iSyndica. Intellectual Property, no???« on: June 09, 2010, 04:44 »
Well the Swiss Knife is a type of knife, similar to what the Swiss armed forces have. The term "Swiss Army Knife" is a trademark but, there are more manufacturers so the appearance of one probably isn't

StockFresh / Re: StockFresh - from Peter Hamza and Andras Pfaff« on: June 01, 2010, 17:48 »This is good news! Thanks for posting Lee. Well, you may be in luck. It's tiered by vector detail:
Vectors* Code Detail Price Low detail 1 credits Medium detail 5 credits High detail 10 credits Super high detail 20 credits I like that subs are capped at max 2 MP. |
