Microstock Services / Re: Microstock search engine?
« on: March 21, 2012, 09:52 »
What if the search engines doesn't compare prices? That would be a legal way?

I don't see the point why the agencies would prohibit to advertise their images. A search engine like that would make extra sales for them without spending a bucks. They have apps and widgets for that, the only problem is that those are working just for a single gallery and without search feature.

Microstock Services / Microstock search engine?
« on: March 20, 2012, 05:53 »
I was wondering yesterday about a search engine that search all the agency sites for a keyword.
Is there any search engines like this?

I have some programming knowledge, and I waa thinking about writing a little search engine that searchs all the sites.

A search engine like this should been authorized by the agencies? Can I display prices and comparisions (i mean if an image is found on different agencies)?

What do you think about such a site?
Anyway, it is possible legally without permission from the agencies?
Worth it? Would it be usefull?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Bad July sales
« on: July 08, 2011, 09:02 »
My last summer was ok, but now it's preatty bad. The truth is that i didn't concerned about July 4 :(

Gosh, I think you ment 2 days with 2 digits instead of 4 days with 2 digits. Very confusing indeed :D

Thanks for your posts guys, I have a little more faith now :) Thanks again.

General Stock Discussion / Bad July sales
« on: July 08, 2011, 00:55 »
Hi everyone,

I'm contributing mainly on ShutterStock for 2 years now, and my current july sales are the worst ever. What's happening? I'm relatively new to the stock market, and i want you to ask your opinion: july is bad in general?
So bad that sales would drop to half?

Thanks for the answers.

In contrast with PicWorkflow:
- one time payment, and a free 90 day trial
- free autokeywording
- easier GUI, i think they have a too complex interface

In contrast with LightBurner:
- unlimited space
- no image deletion after 3 days
- Yuri style keywording if you know what i mean
- analytics for external files - by external i mean image that wasn't uploaded with our application

And much more.

Hello for all microstock contributor!

I need some oppinion on this.

Suppose we have a stock management application which can do the followings:

  • it's cloud based (a web platform)
  • you upload the images to the application, add metadata (auto keywording) , and deploys to several agencies (now available only for ShutterStock and Dreamstime)
  • you can track your image state.
  • retrive statistics from the agencies (RPI, $/DL, charts, etc.)
  • plus you have a work timer, a check-in check-out system to measure your worked time and proficiency of an image
  • in short: this product is a combination of an autosubmitter and a microstock analytics software, all in a web platform (backs: just ShutterStock and Dreamstime available now)
All these features for 6 month free than perhaps 10-20$ fee per month. Unlimited upload, unlimited space.

My questions are:

  • worth it for development? (80% is ready now)
  • can we get audience with these features against picWorkFlow and Stock Submitter and Microstock Analytics ?
  • would you use it with these features?
  • special question: if you were the CEO, what should be your price plans ? ...tricky question indeed :)

Thanks for your opinions,

~ Saci ~

Illustration - General / Re: Risky experiment
« on: June 08, 2011, 01:44 »
A little bit risky, but anyway, worth it.
For this you should have a list with all months income since you get in the microstock industry. You have to consider the "month bonus" as a great influence factor in your experiment. I think this is the biggest influence beside other minor factors.
I aggree with the aboves: march is very strong in general terms, and from my stats july, august and december are the worst.
