Dreamstime.com / Re: Refund calculation?« on: March 25, 2011, 21:15 »
I responded immediately to the email notification and haven't heard anything back. Hopefully by Monday. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this - if it is a common occurrence.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Tear Sheets - Post your finds here« on: March 25, 2011, 21:09 »
That was fun. Just found one of my pics here:
http://www.cheap-wedding-success.co.uk/what-is-a-good-time-scale-for-decorating-a-wedding-cake.html And another here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Victory-Gardens-Make-a-Comeback That garden image was rejected by SS and BS and stockfresh as non-marketable/not interested in the subject - it never ceases to amaze me what one stock house thinks is great and another won't touch. 4
Dreamstime.com / Refund calculation?« on: March 25, 2011, 20:36 »
So I got one of the "refund notice" emails today:
Due to reasons which are beyond our control, we are sorry to let you know that $4 have been removed from your earnings as result of a refund for file ID_________. This isn't the first time I've been hit with one of these, but this one troubles me because of the amount. I don't understand why they have removed $4 from my account when I was only paid $3.90 for the sale in question. .10 isn't a huge deal but it just doesn't seem right. Any thoughts? 5

Oh happy day - I've been stymied by their reporting. This is great.

Shutterstock.com / Re: shutterstock rejecting everything,Why?« on: March 23, 2011, 01:26 »
I've actually had a few recent images rejected at BigStock that had been accepted at SS - which was a big surprise because, in the past, I could count on BS accepting most of what I uploaded.

StockFresh / Re: Stockfresh Beginning Their Marketing Campaign?« on: March 22, 2011, 18:51 »
Woo hoo! My first StockFresh sale. Only $1 - but that's the equivalent of 4 downloads at Shutterstock. (And it is was an image SS rejected for potential copyright issues). Plus, they just accepted 100% of my 24 uploaded images - all within an hour after uploading. I agree - would love this site to make it.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Did Dreamstime stop selling....lol« on: August 20, 2010, 23:25 »I'm a buyer as well as a contributor, and I prefer using the DT search engine to any of the others. And my sales just keep going up (more downloads as well as higher $ per sale as more images advance in tiers). 9
Shutterstock.com / Re: Reviewers allergy or global trend?« on: August 06, 2010, 00:42 »
It never ceases to amaze me which photos are accepted and which rejected by the various companies.
SS rejected my top 5 best selling images (on DT) - all for the same reason (focus not where they think it should be). And DT surprised me by recently rejecting a couple of photos (for that same reason - focus and/or composition) - but SS accepted them. And they've become top sellers for me on SS. In fact, I just sold my very first EL today on SS, for one of those images DT rejected. I've stopped trying to make sense of it.
