Thank you all for the welcome.  I don't know if I've chosen the best strategy, but I muddle on (with my user manual firm in hand).

Thanks for the welcome!

The photo club focuses on photography as art, but the truth is, at my level, anything that keeps me clicking with purpose and direction is good!

Thanks all for your welcome.

Charl, I think that applies to all forums!

sjlocke, microstock forces me to be disciplined, focused and hopefully improving.  I also belong to a local photo club which has a monthly challenge.  That also helps keep me focused.

jsnover, not yet, but good info to have.  Maybe in the future.

Thanks.  I'm going to go ahead and have the duplicates deleted.  Hopefully I'll get fluent in FileZilla, then check out some options.

Again, I appreciate your responses.

Newbie Discussion / 2 questions: deleting images, ftp
« on: November 11, 2012, 10:39 »
I hope Im posting in the right place.  If not, please advise.  I have 3 questions.

I submitted 24 photos to ShutterStock and BigStock, using FileZilla.  This was the first time I used FZ, so it didnt go smoothly, but I successfully uploaded to SS.  I had problems with BS and in the end I uploaded only 17images successfully but I uploaded them twice and the images as well as the acceptances and rejections were different in each lot.  The result is my portfolio at BS now has 5 duplicate images.  My portfolio is small (67 images), so the duplicates are obvious.

My questions are:

1.  Is it possible to delete the duplicates easily?  Will I have to go through BS to delete them?

2.  Is it better just to leave the duplicates?  Frankly I wouldnt bother if my portfolio werent so small.

3.  Do most people here use ftp to upload?  If so, is FileZilla the best choice?

Ill appreciate any help you can give.

My name is Gloria but most folks call me gk.  I'm new to photography and microstock.  I've been lurking here for a while and found so much useful information, I've decided to join!
