Hi to everyone!
First of all congratulations for the project once again.
I'm looking forward to use Symbiostock. After a little bit of research I found that the competition for all main and not main topics in stock photography is really really huge. Let's say if you shoot mostly people it will be impossible to get some visible spot in google search. Of course one possible way it could be that you go into small niches and build your site around that niche(low competition=>low traffic=>low sells).
Can somebody share some info about this?

Yes, this is quite alarming. March has always been my #1 month for sales at Istock and this month very very slow.
It has picked up for me this month. Especially with the dec/jan gi sales. Maybe they are helpling exclusives in the best match because the survey asked a lot of questions that would show a conern about losing exclusives.
Happy 4 U:) For me it hasn't pucket up... But down...

46 downloads in Nov and steadily downhill since then in spite of continuing to upload. On track to get 4 DL's this month.
I know, small port, but I look at trends and this one is alarming.
hope your reason to be exclusive have nothing to do with money 
Somebody @ IS would say... You haven't uploaded enought lately... :/ Today I've got my 10th dl this month...

It's ironic that 10 min after my cancellation I've received this email:

My sales are all over the place this month. Monday was a decent day with 60+ DLs, and Wednesday was half of that. Today looks to be even slower. I wonder if they are messing with the best match again. Usually I don't see such wild fluctuations.
Congratulations how bigg os your portfolio?
It seams that I'm a small fish... And I have to change something in my images.:/
Since new year it's not going anywhere for me.
best match it's shifted to older files..(this is what people says in IS forum)
Well, I'm a small fish also but up until mid-Dec I was happy with my results and the effort was worthwhile. Lately my sales have come to a grinding halt and have now reached the point that I was doing better (at iStock) as an independent than I am doing now as an exclusive. For me 'worthwhile' doesn't apply there any longer.
That's actually my situation ...

That's good to hear, it's not just exclusives then. 4 of the first 11 days were weekends though so it's not too surprising.
They were in 2012 too.

As I interpret it, it's the former. If you deactivate exclusivity, it will take effect 30 days later. If you change your mind, you have to wait 90 days after exclusivity took effect before you can reapply. For example, if you cancel your exclusivity on April 1, 2013, it will take effect on May 1st, 30 days later. If you want to become exclusive again, you can't do that before July 30th, 90 days after May 1st.

Hellow! Can somebody explain me the second sentence: Upon cancellation, your exclusivity status will be deactivated in 30 days. There is 90 days waiting period before we can approve your exclusivity status again if you choose to reapply.The 90 days period is after I leave or If I would like to reapply I have to wait 90 days? I'm really not smart anymore... I have friend that is at IS for long years.. He told me that jan 2013 was better then 2012. On the other side I have a friend that makes 1K+ $ every month with 2000 images across 4 sites.
I will wait a few months if they fix the best match...
You could ask a dozen different people and get a dozen different answers. You could take the average like the chart on the right, but that may not be the right answer for you either. It's really about experimenting to find the best solution for you. That's what I've found anyway.

I had just 20-30 images(testing) on SS and I was generating a few dollars a mont here.
Now on IS I have 950 images on feb. I made around 100$.
That's not much of a sample to draw any real conclusions from, but for the sake of argument if you wanted to do the math, you were probably making about the same amount of money per image per month at SS as you are with istock. If I could make the same amount of money with SS that I could make as an exclusive with istock, I'd definitely opt for SS and then just ramp up my earnings by submitting to other companies as well.

Just got accepted as contributor based on 1o images submitted for review in less than a day. Im shooting mainly niche, underwater images...

@luissantos84 actually I've got an invitation by a "member" so I can't give you the answer... The 10 photos review took 3 days I think. Folks don't get down on my rejections maybe were just my pics not suitable and yours will be..

When you send them the link they will send you(if your portfolio promising) the invitation to sign-up and upload 10 photos...
In this way they invite who they want..
