Something changed again today, "eight wonder" added to the top looks like another in-house collection added to the top of search.

General - Stock Video / "Crossroads" on Shutterstock

If your SS video sales have tanked recently? I may know why....

Anyone else notice the video account "Crossroads" on Shutterstock?  They have about 300 clips and their clips are basically taking up all the top search positions on Shutterstock.  Look at the entire video collection sorted by "best match" or "popular" and its all this contributor.  Search a simple term like "office" and top 27 shots are all theirs, shot with same model and location.  Not only are they taking our sales but buyers are going to quickly more on to other sites if they see search results like this.  There is a topic on the forums about this but SS admin has not responded.  I have emailed the video team as well without any response.

I will echo what Stockmarketer has said.  In about 2006 I saw the market for stock photos going south and started in stock footage, from 2006-2014 there was pretty good money in stock footage, today it has become increasingly difficult to keep up with all the new content flooding the marketplace.

New Sites - General / Re: OverflightStock
« on: October 20, 2017, 15:07 »
I was filming in Vancouver this summer and met up with the owner (Peter) in person for breakfast.
Very nice guy, who is also a pilot and aerial shooter himself.

Its been a few months now with a couple thousand clips on the site and I have made one single $50 (my share) sale.

I don't expect a lot of sales anytime soon, but I think he is building a solid collection.
He also emails out requests, which is nice to see what buyers are asking for.

Congrats!  I remember when you posted about this on the istock forum 5 years ago :)  Things always happen for a reason.  Best of luck on the next 5!

Off Topic / Re: 24-70 vs 70-200 Lens for protraits

Both are great lenses, but the 70-200 would be my first choice for portraits.  Great lens .

My kids love shooting with me and I have never had a problem with misuse.  My friends and family have all seen my kids on tv and in print and are always excited to shoot with me, they don't have a problem signing the release because they have seen my shots and seen how shots of my kids have been used.
If you neighbor is hesitant I would be careful, show him some examples of shots with your kids and how they have been used.  If he is still hesitant I would not use his kids, some people are much more sensitive to things like this and you should be very careful if your subject is hesitant to sign the release.
