Great start.  Like the dock with the fog.

I also liked your image keyword list.  Was that a special plug in?

David W.

in the footer? Played around with the widgets. Think this one is a symbio one which i placed in 3/3 of the footer.
It's called tag cloud

thank you guys. i hope visitors like it and throw money at the screen :). Those photos are not something that stock sites will accept, but i hope there is a market niche for them.

« on: July 30, 2013, 01:36 »
Hey guys. I think i've finally made my site somewhat ready to go public. Can someone please review it and make suggestions?
Also, i'm not exactly sure if i got the keywording right. Any advice is welcomed

Can you please give me the link where the original watermark image stays? I've changed it and i think it's all messed up because of that.

wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/classes/image-processor/symbiostock-watermark.png

Thanks mate.
All working fine now. Guess different watermarks mess up with the preview photo. Setting back to original cleared the problem for me

I have a very limited portfolio atm, but will put it all on SYS. All my future images will be on it exclusively.
Most of my images(and my interests) are landscapes, nature, hdr, wildlife etc, not much similar to microstock agencies' required files. Most of my files are heavily postprocessed and won't be of great interest to most buyers, but i hope someone will evaluate them.
I've seen already, some of the connected sites had put up FAA pages. Have you guys had any observations on that?

Off Topic / Re: Will the Cell Phone Replace the dSLR?
« on: July 26, 2013, 06:44 »
There might come a day were cell phone cameras and DSLRs deliver equal pixel quality, but how much of an excellent photo is delivered by the quality of the camera?  For a good photo, you also need good lighting (which can cost more than the camera), or an excellent eye for good lighting, and good camera skills.

I don't think we are afraid of the cell phones, but of the owners of cell phones who might start to think they can make the same quality photos as DSLR photographers.  Is this not what happened at the start of microstock?  Macro photographers being afraid that amateurs would start to think they could make the same quality photos?  Wasn't this caused by Canon releasing the first 300D, the first affordable DLSR ?

So no, I'm not afraid of cell phones, but yes I fear the new generation of cell phone owners who discover a new hobby, which could grow into serious photography, just as it happened to most of us.

you're just so....right!!

Symbiostock - SEO & Marketing / Re: Symbiostock Sales POLL
« on: July 25, 2013, 04:48 »
at this time, it will be more interesting to see how the organic traffic coming from search engines is going.
Can anyone tell their port size/google hits?

14
started working on a pr3 9 year old domain. I guess this will boost all of the network performance as soon as i start linking back to it.
If anyone has interest in dropped pr3-4-5 aged domains, please send me PM with your desired keyword. I will try to work on something cheap(8-20$). It's the least i can do for such a great and helping community.
Oh, and btw, how are the other licensing options worked out on symbio? Like sr-el, rm etc.?

google's WMT is not the best tool for checking backlinks.
try http://moonsy.com/backlinks_checker/

Following some private messages from ppl already using the platform, i will be starting building my SS website.
One question though... Since i have access to aged and high ranked domains, will it be better to use one ?

Symbiostock - General / Re: Is Symbiostock a con?
« on: July 23, 2013, 02:30 »
hey guys
my 1st post here
I have made the registration on the forums with the single idea to ask details about stocksy.com, since i do not intend to start working with other microstock agencies. But as i was lurking the forums, i've found symbio....
Now, it all looks interesting and all and I do think i have some kind of experience building websites with WP so installing it won't be a problem.
The real problem is what exactly is symbio??? Does it bring you visitors and traffic in some miraculous way? Does it simply acts like a basket for buying photos? Does it works undercover to provide hundreds of backlinks from other sites and thus tricking google into thinking you have authority??
Cause if it is the latter, then sooner or later you're gonna get whipped!
Please explain to me what the benefits of this plugin are. I wasn't interested at first in building my own website, i'm just happy sharing my work in 500px, but if this can drive sales, i will happily do it
Please, im not trying to troll or something. Just need more info
