Symbiostock - Technical Support / Re: Dragonfly - homepage layout
« on: November 13, 2013, 12:40 »
Thanks - I had been admiring your site earlier - very nice!

The author box being out of alignment is using dragonfly 'straight out of the box' (well - download folder). I will eventually find how to remove the author box but thought I might report it in case it can be corrected for others?

I am scratching around between this site and symbiostock site trying to find clues and answers to my (mostly self inflicted) problems and think I am at the overwhelmed stage that others seem to have gone through in that there are is a lot of help in a lot of different places

Thanks again

Symbiostock - Technical Support / Dragonfly - homepage layout

I am using dragonfly and whilst reasonably happy with it would like to remove the 'Author' box from the right hand side

Failing that / and for future reference I seem to be unable to line up some text

The right hand seems a few pixels lower than the left?

Just in case you did not solve this or someone else checks the thread out...

I had the same problem and found some help on wordpress  -  a simple re-install of wordpress solved the issue for me

Site: http://images.mddu.com
Host: byethost http://byethost.com

Upgraded to a paid hosting plan the other day.  I'm still waiting on the nameservers to catch up which is absolute torture.  I still have some testing to do before I can finish uploading and start promoting it.

*edit*

Decided to modify instead of post new.

The nameservers were already caught up, what was failed to mention in the FAQ or even on the message board that you needed to contact support to migrate the site from free to paid.

It was working fine then the database reverted back to what it was before I started working on the site again.  It must've still be pulling information from the free host database (another thing that there wasn't information on).

Right now I'm happy just wish I could've foreseen those issues beforehand.

Hi Anita
I have carried out a very unscientific survey and have tried clicking all of the links to symbio sites I can find - and frankly yours seems to be the fastest!!  By miles!!

Could you describe your plan and how you got started?

So you set up a free hosting site  /  build your symbio site on that and then opt for a paid plan?

Do I understand that correctly ?

May I ask what plan you are on also

Thanks in advance

Newbie Discussion / Re: Best for Editorial ?
« on: September 06, 2013, 11:28 »
Thanks

Both 'hot' and 'cool' (secondary) - I see Alamy pics quite often being credited with The Telegraph and Indepedent in the UK press

I didn't even think about none of them taking exclusive editorial

Hi - another newbie quickie

Is there an agency that people think is best for editorial content?

Also do you think there is any benefit in going Exclusive with that agency for editorial?

Thanks for everyyones help?

Newbie Discussion / Re: Series / Niche - hold 'em or send 'em

Thanks for the quick reply - nothing amazing as a niche but just wonder how reviewers handle series I guess

So for example if I had a series of 5 images of Bread (for example) all individual but obviously a series would a reviewer get the 'idea' more than a random photograph of bread displayed on a shelf

This assumes that all of the images are of acceptable quality etc

I guess I am asking how the review process works a little?  Does one reviewer look at all uploads from a contributor or do they just tackle them one by one

Newbie Discussion / Series / Niche - hold 'em or send 'em
« on: September 05, 2013, 16:35 »
Just starting and happily have been accepted first time by quite a few

Have several niche / series ideas I am working on - not sure of the best way to tackle them with uploading

Is it best to hold them until I have several to send at once - or should I send them individually

Any advice appreciated
