Shutterstock.com / Re: The Importance of Correct Keywords.
« on: February 15, 2016, 23:48 »
Show me the non- specialist  agencies with consistently  high keywording standards.

Pretty much all the micro agencies are filled with bad keywords. I could give several examples but the one I posted is real as opposed to getting into a pissing contest with the usual crowd here. I did that once many years ago with monkey and ape.
It's really simple, just keyword properly. If the image/clip is good and the buyer can use it, then it will most likely sell for what it is or for what it's not in this case.
The artist should be have all of their worked removed from SS as a lesson to us all. I also hope they sue SS and the artist. This is a blatant lie and willfully done. Tough love, but much needed.

So why you are so piss off about this clip.
Author of this clip is obviously on crappy cruise ship trip maybe with family and visit 100 places on this naive weekly voyage. Who knows if he take this clip, maybe his wife, son, daughter whatever, and they are maybe not even from USA.
I see it since my first day at microstock.
I dont defend author but you are surely not one who will kick his ass out of stock (dont be Chad if you are not).
And why any wannabe politicians (or they PR or marketing stuff) are buying clips from B-role stock sites?!?
Because they are all ignorant liars.
And circle is closed

...
Without more details, that seems to be a completely disproportionate reaction to a small and easily remedied infraction. Perhaps Mat could look into this and explain?

These types of random account closures should concern us all ... as people's livelihoods are just cut off with no explanation or recourse. It wasn't you this time, but with no process to protect contributors from arbitrary (as possibly just mistaken) actions, it could very well be next time.

Seems that Chad has new job there

Creative Market

and our "beloved wannabe marketplace" Envato@GraphicRiver where the same image as .png file is cheaper than at PhotoDune without transparency (so you can just forget them as option+PITA uploading process+PITA about tax paperwork). Only if you like SadoMazo

Pozdrav svima,

50% of the sale price

Percent is lets say correct but price expectation how much you will get is misguided/unknown because there is no price showed/defined how much $$ is SR-EL1 and SR-EL3 eg.(1/3 of SR-EL or 1/4 or whatever...)
My fried sold one SR-EL1 license defined by they default min price of 250$ for zero sold image but this price as he find is for SR-EL.
SR-EL1 is for 1 year exclusivity and he got whooping 30$ for that image. So he has much more job to do to erase that image from sites and much more mailings with few sites which dont want or they unwillingly want to erase that image because of their stupid TOS.
According to my logic license for SR-EL3 (3year exclusivity) price may will be btw 70-90$ which is too low for my opinion.

From the forum:
"We've identified the issue causing the phantom download issue. It's a display issue that isn't impacting royalties in any way. We have a fix that we are hoping to push live as early as EOD (Friday May 29) but more likely early next week. Again, I will repeat; There aren't any royalty related issues attached to this bug. It's 100% a display issue which we will be resolving shortly."

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotalia re-design!
« on: June 01, 2015, 17:24 »
Mat, is Adobe holding on to the legacy decisions of Fotolia, or will they let people back in that got expelled without clear reason given?

@SemmickPhoto, Nothing has changed at Fotolia regarding policies and procedures. I'm more than happy to discuss individual account issues privately. Feel free to email me: [email protected].

-Mat

That is just sad.
Jezz Chad is still there...

Adobe Stock / Re: HD video downloads now worth 5 towards rank
« on: January 09, 2015, 19:35 »
Mat Mat Mat
I dont know of what jumping in contributors ranking you are talking about. Maybe you dont know that Fotolia punish authors and accusing them that they sell images elsewhere cheaper than on FT and reset they ranking to white level at 20 or 25% royalty without any logical explanation.
Seams only FT hold rights to sell at cheapest price point and screw authors for royalties!? WaTaFaka???
Give us our rankings back!!!

My video sales are really strong this week and my photo sales are on par or a little higher then last month. Still to early to tell and I have my fingers crossed!

Ya getta be kidding...
Yes sales are up but royalty for full HD now are in a range of Big Web video before new robbery.
Who said that Fotolia, Dream, and Evanto has lowest prices for video?

Grrrrrrrrr  >:(

TOTAL DISASTER.
Half of the month is passed and earnings are whopping low 8.34% of the average month.
RPD is also record low 44% of average RPD!!!
This is the biggest drop of revenue of all agencies of all the time.
Cant believe whats going on. Seams that only subscription buyers are on the boat now.  :o

. Can I sit back and relax me now?  ;)

I don't think there is ever a time you can sit back and relax.  As mentioned by others here, you'll likely see an increase in sales for the short term but inevitably your portfolio will get pushed back further and further behind contributors that are consistently uploading new work.  You've got to stay busy to stay relevant.

Good luck,

Mat

Yeah, especially if you are optin at Dollar club :)

iStockPhoto.com / Re: PP May started
« on: June 21, 2014, 15:19 »
So PP is maybe finally ended, but when they fabulous subscription earnings graph will start? I only see it in ONE day in April and thats it. Is that result of they "big" marketing campaign against SS subs sales?! Or they just stealing money from us without showing us what they sold?

24
My portfolio has over 24k images at FTL. I am still uploading new images every week but my income is decreasing since years now. While it is not the case with other agencies which are still be able to occasionally reach a BME.
I don't know what is the problem with Fotolia - any idea? My earnings are back to the level of mid 2008. That time I had 2-3k images online while now I have nearly 10 times more.

Anyway, there is a psychological level (a certain amount of monthly income) when my income falls below that I'll stop uploading to FTL for ever. I am very close to this. If the tendecy visible on the attached chart continues I will reach it this year.

Does anyone have an idea why is this?

My port is 15 times smaller than yours but I have similar pattern as you.
Seams that I earned much more money with 1/5 of my port size than today, grrrrrrrrrr

This is total nonsense. Ktools.net sells Ktools products.

Yes
some of they infamous "Ponzi products" are deserted/abandoned from they site.
Maybe they finally find way to make legal money...
