Well, there was enough backlash from this that they stopped the policy change.

I know this isn't stock related but many people use PayPal to receive money.
I just wanted to make sure everyone knows this can happen now.

Envato / Re: Envato Getting Rid of Contributor Bonus
« on: June 09, 2022, 10:24 »
Started writing a lengthy reply to this nonsense, but really whats the point. Its just another cash grab because they can.
I agree, with no bonus and Shutterstock buying P5, I feel defeated ...

They want us fighting each other so we are distracted. That is what I see now. 2 wings of the same bird ...

5
Shoot new world order, transhumanism, central banks, social credit systems, loss of personal property. More bioterrorism. Frankenfood made from soy, disappearance of beef. Plant-based food. Big agriculture.
Excellent ideas Cathy

I don't understand why people care about levels. Even on the highest level I still earn 10 cents per photo.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Who Partners with ThinkStock
« on: January 01, 2022, 22:19 »
Thank you. Much appreciated :) I never sold the image on thinkstock or istock or getty so that is why I thought it was a partner.
I'm just surprised they keep crediting me on all the links after so many years. I'm not very proud of the image too so I wish they wouldn't (lol).

General Stock Discussion / Who Partners with ThinkStock
« on: January 01, 2022, 18:55 »
Hello and Happy New year everyone!
I don't sell on istock or thinkstock but one of my photos keeps giving credit to my name and Thinkstock on my Google alerts.
Does anyone know what agencies partner with Thinkstock?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Envato Author Identification

Okay thank you. I just wonder why I can't do it directly through my account. I have to click on the link in an email.

General Stock Discussion / Envato Author Identification
« on: April 28, 2021, 08:06 »
Has anyone gotten an email from envato for an "Author Identification" check?
When I log into my envato account, I don't see anything about it and am afraid to click on the link from my email and don't want my account paused. They only gave me 4 days to do it and it will take 5 days for envato to respond to my concern.

I think they've realized quite the opposite. They can continue decreasing royalties and new contributors easily fill any losses. Unsplash has proven there is no shortage of gullible people who are willing to give free work away to ruthless businesspeople posing as philanthropists. They will keep decreasing royalties until they see a negative impact and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight.

Good point. You are right ... Unsplash has proven this.

Don't these agencies realize the quality of stock photography will diminish greatly if photographers are only earning 10 cents an image which includes enhanced/extended licensing? Even the "new/pumped up generation" would probably not stay long at that royalty ...

Also, inflation is coming. They are reducing our pay while the cost of everything is going up.

15
I feel pretty stupid. I was on Twitter saying don't buy from SS, buy from Adobe, they are the "good guys" after we got played by Shutterstock in the middle of a pandemic ...

Time to start deleting my good work ...

This might help clarify what it is. Hope it helps :)

The QBI (Qualified Business Income Deduction) was apart of Trump's Tax breaks for small businesses. It wasn't available years ago so that is why I was worried the new admin might get rid of it. I didn't mean to get political so I'm sorry if I upset you. Hopefully you took advantage of it.

20
Do you file a Schedule C? My software automatically did it for me and I did qualify.

This deduction is amazing and I'm really hoping Biden does not reverse it.

It's an amazing story that will go down in history! I got in on BB, NOK and AMC before they shut it down

General Stock Discussion / MISC 1099 from Igniter Stock LLC
« on: January 28, 2021, 11:54 »
Hi Everyone,

I got an email from Igniter Stock LLC saying my 1099 is ready to download but I don't want to click on the link. It doesn't say what agency it is from.

Does anyone know what agency this is?

General - Stock Video / Re: How bad is it for the rest of you?
« on: January 26, 2021, 19:35 »
Hanna, What are the best POD sites?

I just dropped Bigstock, leaving me only five agencies for now. (one of which is Canstock, which hardly counts)  I'm currently making more from POD than from microstock.

I'll keep making and uploading new work because... well... it's what I do.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Photographing Families Again
« on: July 22, 2020, 20:52 »
Thank you for your advice Anyka. I really appreciate it.

Some photographers here are having customers sign Covid-19 liability waivers. In America, everyone is sue-happy for sure.
