General Stock Discussion / Stock Video...
« on: September 09, 2018, 01:52 »
Hey Microstockers... Im pretty new to the uploading of videos and I'm just wondering if all the agencies put the same restrictions on having the same dates on the video files as the model release.

Im editing the video on Davinci Resolve and when I export the edited videos it seems it changes the created date to the edited date.

If anyone knows if not having the same dates on the video files and the models release isnt a problem or if it is a work around that would be great.

Thanks

Ok maybe this isnt such a crazy idea! Im a stocker and shoot in my Amazing loft studio in central Madrid. Like all of us we get bored of our city and looking for adventure. As full time stock photographers we could just do a life swap! Im looking to trade for maybe a month in any part or the world, looking for modern flat, fast internet, studio or workable apartment with light stands and background and a few models to work with in exchange you will get all this in Madrid! Sounds crazy but it just might work! Whats the point of being a digital nomad if we dont do this type of thing! Hit me up if this sounds interesting.

Software / StockSubmitter Client reviews...
« on: August 05, 2018, 03:09 »
Hey guys, Im checking out Stock Submitter and its seems great if I can get it to work across all the angecies.

Im a stock shooter that shoots around 1000,2000 images a months with sometimes up to 4 people in the same shot.

Ive uploaded a few sets to say and it seems a little buggy getting a lot of errors and it failed to upload to Pond5, Adobe for some reason submitted half the photos with model release on the other half without..

Not sure right now I really want to believe this works as well and it says... So I'm after any stockers that use this with large scale uploading to give me a honest review.

regards

Hey Stockers, Im uploading in ESP istock and I'm getting " WE DID NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR TERM " a lot on about 60% of my keywords... my keywords are very good i think and when I click on the not recognised word it totally changes the keyword which i don't like much its either the same as an other keyword or just not right. My question is, the no recognised keywords are they still added to the photo and are these keywords searchable even though istock doesn't recognise them? not only does it do a bad job when you click on the no recognised words but it takes a very long time.. seeing istock sales are really bad these days i would like to spend as little time uploading... any advice would be great.

General Stock Discussion / Work Flow... Help..
« on: May 04, 2018, 10:15 »
Hey guys and girls, I hope all is well, I'm having trouble with my work flow and wondering if any of you stockers can let me know how its done. Im having trouble with FTPS dropping out and only sending 1/2 of the images to some agencies and then getting into a huge mess on that I have uploaded..

I'm planning on working on shutterstock as my test, so I upload to them first then once I get the green light with them I upload to all the other agencies.

Has anyone had an experiences with drop stock? a online company that you drop your images to dropbox and they take care of your FTPing to all the agencies?

Any work flow or other programmes that I have not thought about? any advise would be great..

thanks legends and keep shooting

General Stock Discussion / Stage uploading and keywording
« on: April 22, 2018, 11:55 »
Hey stockers, Ive been running a stock company with my partner for the last 5 years, Ive been mainly shooting and he has been controlling the uploading and keywording. The company has run its course so its time I start learning all this stuff. I have  few questions and any feed back would be great.

I generally pick topics to work on and get maybe 150-200 images from a session, now Im just starting out again my photos are not getting picked up quick enough and falling off page 1 in the first 24 hours. I was thinking of batching my uploads over 4 weeks uploading 50 per week so my photos will be all over the new search pages for longer. Has anyone out there tried this? if so I would love to hear what your thoughts were.

Keywording is pain in the ass but it must be done, Im hoping to find a formula or templates that I can keyword and title and description once and upload across all platforms, does any one know what the limit to the title is across all agencies? also is it true the top 5 keywords should be the first 5 keywords? and what about running or run, depression of depressed do I use both?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Shutterstock.com / Re: down the toilet
« on: January 23, 2017, 18:07 »
I had a decent monthly income from Shutterstock for about 2 years although I didnt add many new images. This stable income tanked on the 22 November and never recovered since then. I guess it might have been algorithm change. I was about 40% down on number of DLs in December, the income was saved by a couple of huge SODs at the end of the year.... January so far is quite poor, still 30-40% drop on DLs and income. I dont think it will get better, probably worse.

It forced me to finally go through with my plan B.. I joined Adobe :D I put around 300 of my better vectors there, earned some 120 euro in the first month. It is not even close to cover my loss from SS though :'( Lets see what 2017 brings us..

When you say you joined Adobe as your plan B isn't this just Fotolia?! I thought Adobe bought them last year if I'm wrong I would love to know more.

I will sign today, but can anyone or everyone give me some more information? I have like 12,000 images on Istock and normally make around 700-1000 a month from my no exclusive portfolio.

this month I'm looking at around 150$ with only a week to go... Can Istock really be this bullish? I'm thinking about pulling all my images but i can only guess Istock will make it very hard for us to take the images down.

Maybe if enough of us got together we could strike? demanding istock to take our images off line or change the deal back to what it was which was already the worst payers out there.

I'm very depressed about the situation.. any insight to what is actually going on and the actual new Commission rate would be great. Getty write it in such a way its very hard to understand it.

I'm feeling for all the stockers out there right now.. this really is a punch in the face in a already hard time.

It's been a year since starting on our Microstock agency and it been hard work and a pretty steep learning cure and but the last 3 months we have hit $1000 each month from around 1800 images and I just wanted to get some feed back on if this is normal good or bad...
