Shutterstock.com / Re: Email from SS - Regarding Repeated Words and Phrases in Image Titles« on: June 30, 2016, 14:51 »
First, I think we all got the same email. The orange, orange, orange and icon arrow, icon arrow, icon arrow were just examples of spam titles. I ain't got no oranges or arrow icons in my port.
Second, if they really did unleash a tool that breaks up the image title into separate, single keywords and adds them to the existing keywords, then *of course* there will be redundancy in the keywords. What a mess. I hope they can straighten it out soon without crashing their servers. My thought is that if that's what happened, and you DID NOT get an email, you are doing something wrong! 3

How about the fact that there are 9,000 copies of your same image floating around on the web without any credits?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock dropped the classic view« on: January 28, 2016, 13:52 »
I also always switched to the classic view. Stupid idea to get rid of it
Still have the classic view for now. But just noticed something new. Previously my download numbers under an image showed only IS downloads. The numbers just jumped up, and it looks like they're including PP downloads in the numbers on the IS site. My DeepMeta numbers haven't changed -- they still show the old numbers.. I'm a newbie. Tiny port. Boarded the ship as it was sinking. :^( Bob 8
General Photography Discussion / Re: Looking for the ultimate answer on White Balance« on: March 13, 2015, 01:02 »
But it becomes a problem when the reviewers tell you this
Quote White Balance -- The incorrect white balance setting was used. Mike, I'm going to guess that the reviewer and his/her handler doesn't understand camera raw, and that it would be fruitless to try explaining. You might try taking a photo of anything (seriously, anything) at the same settings as the original photo except this time set the WB to Auto. Take your original image, paste it into the new photo, and add whatever metadata ought to be there. Then re-submit with apologies and tell them you've fixed the problem. It just might work. 9
iStockPhoto.com / Re: my money on the iStock« on: January 13, 2015, 18:27 »The original question, for some others who are bringing in subs and TS and all that was: "Money which in my account is continuously increasing. I wonder it. Why is it increasing without downloaded image? " Which read as, Money Is Increasing but no DLs are showing. Which has nothing to do with PP and all that? Or did I read the question wrong. I'm new here, and only started to contribute to IS last August (good timing!) but I was noticing the same thing as the OP. My balance would increase and I'd see no more sales. There was a portion of my balance I couldn't account for. But then the numbers would start rising in the PP, or in the regular downloads, and things would start making sense (in the most humbling way). btw, I've seen several references to TS but I don't see that in the acronym key. What is TS? 10
iStockPhoto.com / Re: my money on the iStock« on: January 09, 2015, 14:44 »Actual sales may take up to two days to appear on the list, but the money often shows a day ahead of time. At the very least, often hours ahead of the reporting. Mine seem to show the same day as income, hours delayed on the DL list. Thanks for that, Uncle Pete! I didn't know that trick. ismailciydemm, if you go to your account and on the lower left nav twirl down the Uploads. Under there you will see Partner Program. Click that. You can click on the column headings to re-sort the list. Clicking on the heading "Partner Program DLs (iStock DLs)" will sort the list in the order of most Partner Program downloads. (Actually, it will toggle the order. You may need to click it a second time to get it to sort with the most on top.) This is where you can see what's been downloaded in the partner program, and the numbers in parentheses are the regular credit downloads. Still, it may take a few days (or months!) for all the data to catch up and make sense! hth
